Online gambling at PointsBet in MI, CO, NJ, IL, IN, IA

PointsBet bonusWelcome to this article about PointsBet, where you’ll learn just what states the operator is legal in, and whether or not you’re able to start your gambling journey with them! But before we reveal all, here’s some background on PointsBet.

PointsBet is an Australian-based sportsbook that has become one of the fastest-growing sportsbooks in the US. It was established in 2015 and offers players the opportunity to bet on a number of sports, including soccer, baseball, football, and tennis, to name but a few. They also have a casino where you can play slots, table, and video poker games.

At the time of writing this PointsBet review in 2021, PointsBet is currently legally operating in 7 states in America. The states where residents can bet on sports with PointsBet are as follows:

  • Indiana – launched in March 2020, but just the sportsbook.
  • New Jersey – launched in January 2018.
  • Iowa – went live in November 2019, became the 4th online sportsbook to launch in Iowa.
  • Colorado – launched November 2020, 6-months after sports betting was legalized there.
  • Illinois – debuted in September 2020.
  • Michigan – launched January 2021, the first day online sports betting was allowed in MI.
  • West Virginia – went live in August 2021.

Are there plans for PointsBet to launch elsewhere?

As of 2021, there are plans for PointsBet to launch in two other states. Those two states are Virginia and Tennessee. Online sports betting was launched in Virginia in January 2021, so it’s entirely possible that PointsBet could debut in the state soon.

Online sports betting also launched in Tennessee in January 2021, so residents of the Volunteer State will be hoping that PointsBet debuts there soon too.

Can I gamble with PointsBet?

Here at Betting.net we are often asked about legality of different operators in certain states, such as where is Golden Nugget legal? We cover all operators, and in this review we can tell you that, provided you’re based in a US state that PointsBet is based on, or in a state that has no restrictions in place that prevent you from gambling with off-shore sportsbooks, then you will be able to gamble with PointsBet.

The gambling age for sports betting in Indiana, New Jersey, Iowa, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, and West Virginia is 21, so as long as you’re of age, you will have no issues gambling with PointsBet.
