Is it worth even looking for sites like Skillz?
Before we can look at potential Skillz Casino sister sites, we have to check out the brand itself, and discuss the benefits of going elsewhere.
What Skillz offers
Let’s start with a Skillz recap. This is a gaming site created by Skillz Inc., which claims to offer 20,000+ titles from a range of independent developers. Instead of classic video slots and other casino-style games, you get board games, bingo, Solitaire, Sudoku, Trivia, and even online pool.
You can play these games using the Z virtual currency, plus purchase entries for the multiplayer tournaments they host. However, instead of redemptions, our testing shows that customers can claim cash prizes based on the prize pools for different tournaments, so this is not a true sweepstakes casino.
There is also the option to purchase Z Coins, which you should be able to do using options like Visa, MasterCard, Apple Pay, and PayPal.
The benefits of looking for other sites like Skillz
We are not saying that Skillz is bad. In contrast, we just believe that having multiple options to play at is always better. It gives you more possibilities, keeps your gaming fun, and offers these actual benefits:
- Games from reputable developers
- Standardized sweepstakes casino format and processes
- Multiple virtual currency promotions
From our experience, Skillz features games from independent developers - not necessarily industry-renowned game producers. This is not the case with the sweepstakes casinos we’ve listed below. They all have titles from popular producers like Hacksaw Gaming, Booming Games, Habanero, Relax Gaming, and ICONIC21. This just gives you improved peace of mind for the fairness of the games.
Next, Skillz is not a traditional sweepstakes casino, and some might find its setup confusing. This should not be the case with our recommended sites like Skillz. They all have the two virtual currency setup with Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC) or something similar, offer SC redemptions, and have common features like sweepstakes rules. These repeat features mean you can get straight into the action without needing a degree to figure things out.
Lastly, sites like Global Poker, Stake.us, and McLuck offer more promotions. This includes a signup offer, introductory discounted GC packages, and a daily login bonus which mean that you get to have more fun.
Pros and cons of Skillz alternatives
Variety is a major benefit. Skillz has a decent game library, but from our experience, having a few sites you can play at will keep your gaming experience fresh. On top of that, the sweepstakes casinos we’ve recommended below are easier to understand. Each of them uses the standard virtual currency setup, has a clear range of promotions, and there is no mess due to third-party involvement from other companies unlike with Skillz.
- More game variety
- Great for beginners
- Widely available in the US
- Consistent GC & SC promos
- No real money gameplay
Start with Crown Coins Casino and its retro M2Play slot collection
- Cash and gift card redemptions
- iOS mobile app available
- VIP rewards program
- Live chat support
- No table games
Sites like WOW Vegas and Crown Coins specialize in retro slots, whereas this is one of the areas we think Skillz falls short. Sure, it’s awesome playing modern games from developers like Hacksaw, but a dose of nostalgia can be just as fun.
Crown Coins especially has an immense retro collection from developers like M2Play (Microgaming), and it offers a 100,000 GC and 2 SC welcome bonus, plus the other standout promos for existing customers. The below table showcases some of our favorite M2Play games at Crown Coins:
| Slot | RTP | Volatility | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold Blitz | 96.40% | Medium | Gold Blitz series |
| Blazing Bison Gold Blitz | 96.00% | High | Gold Blitz series |
| Immortal Romance | 96.86% | High | Vampires, Twilight, Wearwolves |
| Land of Fortunes | 96.05% | Medium-High | America, Patriotism, USA |
Consider MyPrize.us for its above-average mail-in bonus
- Codes aren't required to claim bonuses
- High-quality games from top providers
- Straightforward SC redemption process
- Responsive customer support
- Not available in 7 US states
Next, MyPrize.us is one of the top apps like Skillz in terms of the classic mail-in bonus. If you don’t mind handwriting postcards, you have the potential to get 4 bonus SC for each one you successfully send. Not only that, MyPrize.us has a bonus wheel as part of its signup offer, and four different discounted GC packages.
While Skillz mainly works with independent game developers, MyPrize.us instead sticks with reputable producers like AvatarUX, BGaming, Fantasma, and Red Tiger, so you know you are getting a quality gaming experience. Not only that, but with 1,000+ titles to try, we believe it offers more entertainment and longevity.
Lonestar is one of the top Skillz alternatives for live dealer games
- 500+ casino-style games
- 7-tier loyalty program
- SC redemptions for gift cards and cash prizes
- No mobile app
For live dealer gaming, Lonestar is one of the top free SC Coins casinos, working with ICONIC21 to bring you a variety of titles. You can start with their Gravity games like Gravity Blackjack, Wheel, and Roulette - these each have special Gravity bonus features which can potentially boost winnings. Then, move onto the game shows like Crash Live which offer a completely different live experience.
So you can enjoy these games, Lonestar gives new customers a 100,000 GC and 2.5 SC no purchase bonus, plus an optional 150% discounted GC package. After that, get your friends involved via the referral program and potentially get a 200,000 GC and 70 SC bonus for each successful referee.
Try Stake.us for its unique Stake Originals arcade games
- Multiple bonuses
- Over 2,500 casino-style games
- 24/7 live chat
- No dedicated Android app
Apps like Fliff and Stake.us have become increasingly popular because of in-house technologies they use, and in the case of Stake.us, it’s their Stake Originals arcade games. If you want a break from play slots and table games, Stake Originals could be the answer. They are in-house arcade games featuring creative and unique gameplay, which is sometimes live, as is the case of the legendary Stake Crash.
Other titles from this collection we regularly play include Mines, Chicken, Wheel, Miles, and Tome of Life. To give you a gameplay boost, you can also use our bonus code when registering an account at this alternative sweepstakes casino. If you do, you’ll get 25,000 GC and 25 Stake Cash to play with.
McLuck could offer an improved daily login bonus
- Numerous promotions
- Excellent customer support
- iOS and Android app available
- Not available in all US states
Sites like McLuck were some of the first sweepstakes casinos to be launched in the US, and because of that, they set the standards for promotions and bonuses. In the case of McLuck, its daily login bonus is more than Skillz, coming in at a minimum of 1,000 GC and 0.20 SC every 24 hours, but also potentially increasing as your VIP level boosts.
On top of that, new customers using our banners can get 7,500 GC and 2.5 SC just for signing up. Lastly, McLuck is no slouch for entertainment either - it offers 1,000+ games, and is one of the only US social casinos to have its own branded live dealer games. These are produced by ICONIC21, but feature McLuck iconography and branding in the live dealer studios.
Don’t overlook Skillz alternatives - they offer more than you can imagine
So, which sites like Skillz will you try? McLuck could be a great pick if you intend to log in consistently and get your daily bonus. Alternatively, Crown Coins gives the best retro slot experiences via games from M2Play, Endorphina, and other prominent developers.
You could also try somewhere like Stake.us, using the code to unlock their great signup offer, and immersing yourself in their Stake Originals arcade games. Or, Lonestar and MyPrize.us serve as viable alternatives, both offering 1,000+ casino-style games and above-average promotions.
Whichever you go with, remember that you can register with any of the above sites simply by clicking on the banners or links highlighted on this page.
