15/04/2018 Kick Off:  12:00 pm Molineux V Predicted Score:2 - 0

Away Birmingham City

Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Birmingham to draw a blank. City have only featured in 15 matches this season where both teams found the net, which is the fewest in the division, and they have failed to score in 19 of their 42 games too. A ‘no’ bet is priced at 4/6 and should be part of your both teams to score predictions.

2 We fancy:

Wolves to win 2-0 at 23/20. Football predictions are aided by a little research, and the stats show Nuno’s side have kept 21 clean sheets in 2017/18, which is the most in the Championship. The away side have failed to score in eight of Wolves’ home wins this season too.

3 It's a long shot, but…

Birmingham to win 1-0, at 20/1. Football score predictions are always tricky, but City desperately need the points and have kept a clean sheet in two of their three away wins this season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Birmingham City Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Helder Coster wolves match preview

Will Wolves and Helder Costa be celebrating promotion to the Premier come Saturday evening?

This is a Championship preview where the result appears easy to call, as these teams are at opposite ends of the table. Football prediction can also be aided by looking at the form guide, and it’s worth noting that Birmingham City recently won three matches in a row for the first time in 2017/18. It’s still very difficult to look past a home win though. Here are some football betting tips for the weekend, which might help you decide where to place your money.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are 2/5 to win, and depending on how Cardiff City get on at Norwich City on Saturday, three points could seal promotion. The Championship leaders have only lost twice at Molineux this season, and have won five of their seven matches since their last defeat there.

Birmingham are available at 19/2. They are unbeaten in their last three visits to Wolves and are in as good form as they have been all season. However, with just three away wins in 2017/18, it’s almost impossible to see them making it four here.

The draw is available at 17/4. Birmingham have drawn the joint-fewest matches in the division this season, whereas Wolves have only drawn one more. There are rarely many goals when these sides clash at Molineux – just six in the last six meetings – but a stalemate looks unlikely this time.

Diogo Jota is 7/2 to break the deadlock, and with six opening goals this season, only four players in the Championship have scored first more times. The Portuguese forward also has three goals in his last five appearances, so is in decent form. Jota can be backed at 6/5 to score at any time.

As for the Blues, Lukas Jutkiewicz has scored in each of his last three matches and is 9/2 to make it four in a row. He has scored two openers in the league this season and is available at 12/1 to bag the first goal here.

Championship predictions are rarely straightforward, but this match carries all the hallmarks of a routine home win.

Predicted Score: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 0 Birmingham City
