In a sentence: West Bromwich Albion’s search for their first away Premier League win since August 19 will continue against West Ham United on January 2.

Last time: The pair played out a goalless draw at the Hawthorns earlier this season. West Ham had more of the ball, but West Brom the better opportunities.

This time: West Ham are 10/11 to win it with West Brom available at 18/5 and the draw at 5/2.

You might remember: The two teams played out a terrific 3-3 draw in the Premier League at Upton Park in December 2013. Nicolas Anelka scored a couple for West Brom, while Joe Cole and Kevin Nolan were among the West Ham goalscorers.

Betting Tips & Predictions

West Ham will be confident of returning to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome West Brom to the London Stadium on January 2. The Hammers controversially dropped two late points against Bournemouth on Boxing Day, but will fancy their chances of overcoming a Baggies side that have not won away in the Premier League since the second weekend of the 2017-18 campaign.

West Ham are 10/11 to win it as they look to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat to Newcastle United at the London Stadium last time out. West Ham have actually only won once at home in the Premier League since the end of September, but that was a 1-0 victory over the champions Chelsea on December 9. The Hammers have also held Arsenal on home soil in recent weeks.

West Brom are 18/5 to triumph as they look to record a much-needed three points. The Baggies have shown signs of life since Alan Pardew arrived at the club, but they are still very much in a relegation battle. Indeed, West Brom have only won one of their 10 away Premier League matches this season – managing just five goals in the process. All of the signs point to a tough afternoon in the English capital.

The draw is available at 5/2 and it is worth noting that three of the last five Premier League matches between these two teams have finished level – including the last two. West Brom might be poor away from home, but West Ham have not exactly lit up the London Stadium during the 2017-18 campaign.

Javier Hernandez is 9/2 in the first goalscorer market and the Mexican may well be given the chance to start after appearing off the bench in recent weeks. The former Manchester United forward is also available at 9/1 to find the back of the net on two or more occasions at the London Stadium.

Salomon Rondon is 7/1 in the first goalscorer market and there is no question that the powerful forward has the credentials to cause West Ham’s defence problems. He can also be backed at 20/1 to score two or more times during the 90 minutes.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

West Ham to keep a clean sheet is available at 5/4, which is excellent value when considering that West Brom have only scored five Premier League away goals during a disappointing 2017-18 campaign.

2

We fancy:

West Ham to win 2-0 is available at 8/1. West Brom have had a lot of problems going forward this season, and the Hammers will be confident of winning in front of their own supporters.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Jonny Evans to score twice or more for West Brom is available at 300/1. The Northern Ireland international is a threat from set pieces, and it could be one of his final appearances in a West Brom shirt.
