West Ham will be confident of returning to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome West Brom to the London Stadium on January 2. The Hammers controversially dropped two late points against Bournemouth on Boxing Day, but will fancy their chances of overcoming a Baggies side that have not won away in the Premier League since the second weekend of the 2017-18 campaign.
West Ham are 10/11 to win it as they look to bounce back from their 3-2 defeat to Newcastle United at the London Stadium last time out. West Ham have actually only won once at home in the Premier League since the end of September, but that was a 1-0 victory over the champions Chelsea on December 9. The Hammers have also held Arsenal on home soil in recent weeks.
West Brom are 18/5 to triumph as they look to record a much-needed three points. The Baggies have shown signs of life since Alan Pardew arrived at the club, but they are still very much in a relegation battle. Indeed, West Brom have only won one of their 10 away Premier League matches this season – managing just five goals in the process. All of the signs point to a tough afternoon in the English capital.
The draw is available at 5/2 and it is worth noting that three of the last five Premier League matches between these two teams have finished level – including the last two. West Brom might be poor away from home, but West Ham have not exactly lit up the London Stadium during the 2017-18 campaign.
Javier Hernandez is 9/2 in the first goalscorer market and the Mexican may well be given the chance to start after appearing off the bench in recent weeks. The former Manchester United forward is also available at 9/1 to find the back of the net on two or more occasions at the London Stadium.
Salomon Rondon is 7/1 in the first goalscorer market and there is no question that the powerful forward has the credentials to cause West Ham’s defence problems. He can also be backed at 20/1 to score two or more times during the 90 minutes.
