In a sentence: West Ham will look to continue their impressive recent form when they welcome struggling Newcastle United to the London Stadium.

Last time: Newcastle recorded a 3-0 win over the Hammers in the reverse Premier League match back in August. Joselu, Ciaran Clark and Aleksandar Mitrovic scored the goals for the Magpies in front of more than 52,000 spectators.

This time: West Ham are 11/10 to win it with Newcastle available at 5/2 and the draw at 12/5.

You might remember: Michael Owen scored a hat-trick for Newcastle in their 4-2 win away to West Ham in the Premier League in December 2005. Alan Shearer was also on the scoresheet for the Magpies at Upton Park.

Betting Tips & Predictions

While Newcastle have lost their last four in the Premier League to drop into the relegation zone, West Ham have picked up seven points from their last three matches to move into 15th position. The Hammers will be looking to build on impressive home results against Chelsea and Arsenal in their last two at the London Stadium, but Newcastle were improved in their 1-0 defeat at Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham are 11/10 to win as they look to stretch their unbeaten run in the Premier League to four matches. The Hammers have actually lost four of their last six league meetings with Newcastle, but there is no question that the capital club are on the up under Moyes. All three points this weekend would move them closer to the top half of the division.

Newcastle are 5/2 to emerge victorious from this weekend’s clash in London. Rafael Benitez’s side have only won one of their nine away Premier League matches this season, however, and have not collected all three points since beating Crystal Palace in the middle of October.

The draw is 12/5, although West Ham and Newcastle have not drawn a Premier League match since August 2013. There has been a winner in their last six meetings in the top flight, and Newcastle have only drawn three of their 18 Premier League matches this season.

Javier Hernandez is 5/1 in the first goalscorer market this weekend. The Mexican could return to the starting XI after appearing off the bench against Stoke and he can also be backed at 15/8 to net at any point during the 90 minutes in London.

Dwight Gayle is 6/1 to open the scoring at the London Stadium. The 28-year-old has three league goals to his name this season and may well come back into the team after starting on the bench against Arsenal. The forward is 5/2 to be on the scoresheet in the anytime market, while he is 14/1 to score two or more.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

The to win from behind market. West Ham are available at 12/1 to come from behind to win on home soil, while Newcastle can be backed at 20/1 in the same market. Both teams are also available at 13/2 to come from behind to draw.

2

We fancy:

Correct score of 2-1 West Ham can be backed at 9/1. Newcastle certainly have the players to nick a goal at the London Stadium, but we fancy the home side to win. Recent matches between these two teams suggest that it will be a fairly low-scoring affair.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

West Ham to win 4-0 is available at 70/1. Newcastle will enter the match off the back of a rotten run of form and the Hammers may well be in the mood to dish out a hammering after an impressive run of results.
