Sean Dyche saw Burnley get back to winning ways against Everton

Burnley’s come-from-behind win against Everton at the weekend halted a run of 11 league games without a win, despite never dropping from seventh place in the league. They travel to a struggling West Ham side who seem to have dropped away from their mid-season form lately, being beaten 4-1 to Liverpool and away to Swansea last weekend.

At 5/4, West Ham start the game as favourites and will be looking to bounce back from their thrashing at Swansea and start to pull away from relegation trouble that still troubles them. They sit just three points off 18th place and could end up in the drop zone if results were to go against them.

As for Burnley, they will be looking to continue on from their win over Everton with another positive result away from home. They have lost two of their last three away games in the league, however, and generally struggle to win on the road. Their last away win was all the way back in November and have won just four games on their travels all season. At 5/2 they are outsiders and given their away form this season, that price looks a little on the short side.

West Ham are undefeated at home in 2018, with two wins and two draws. The 4-1 defeat at the hands of Swansea will worry fans, however, given that they sit just a few points above the drop zone. They will want to stay clear of that and a win here against Burnley will go some way to improving the situation.

In terms of a betting angle, it is always a good way to go in Burnley games for under 2.5 goals and that is best priced at 5/8. West Ham have seen this result in six of their last eight home games and Burnley have seen under 2.5 goals in six of their last seven league matches.

The draw at 111/50 is also a bet that looks good here. West Ham are unbeaten at home in their last eight but they have had four draws in that process. Burnley have also drawn four of their last six away games and six of their last 13 away games to bottom half teams, so the draw in this one represents good value.

Match Summary

Look out for:

Under 2.5 goals at 5/8. Burley do not really do high-scoring games and West Ham struggle for goals. Unders definitely the way to go.

We fancy:

The draw at 111/50. Plenty of draws for these two sides of late and Burnley are notoriously difficult to beat. They do not win many away games so a draw looks the most likely outcome

It’s a long shot, but:

Burnley to win 2-1 at 14/1. Burnley will be confident against a struggling West Ham side, fresh off their thrashing from Swansea. They beat Everton by the same scoreline at the weekend and Burnley could do it again.
