A Salomon Rondon goal would lift the gloom at West Brom after a tough week

The Hawthorns will host a relegation six-pointer this weekend as West Bromwich Albion welcome Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. West Brom are currently rooted to the bottom of the table on 20 points – seven points behind Huddersfield, who occupy 17th position. Alan Pardew’s side are in desperate need of the points as they attempt to move out of the bottom three, but they have only won three of their 27 Premier League matches during the 2017-18 campaign, and face a serious battle to stay in the top flight of English football.

West Brom are 21/20 to collect all three points as Pardew’s side attempt to secure what would be a huge home win. Since beating Brighton & Hove Albion on January 13, the Baggies have drawn with Everton in addition to losing against Manchester City, Southampton and Chelsea. They have only been victorious in two of their 13 home Premier League matches this season, but they have actually only suffered four league defeats at the Hawthorns during the 2017-18 campaign. It is a huge occasion for the Baggies this weekend.

Huddersfield are 4/1 as the Terriers look to move clear of the bottom three. A total of 27 points from 27 matches has left David Wagner’s side in 17th spot in the Premier League table – just one point clear of 18th-placed Southampton. No team has lost more away Premier League matches than Huddersfield (nine) this season, although they did beat Bournemouth 4-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium in their last Premier League match before losing to Manchester United in the FA Cup.

The draw is 23/10, and it is worth noting that West Brom have drawn seven of their 13 home Premier League matches this season, which is the most in the division. Indeed, two of their last four home league fixtures have finished level, and with both managers desperate to avoid defeat, a low-scoring draw could well occur this weekend.

Salomon Rondon is 19/4 in the first goalscorer market this weekend, while the West Brom forward can be backed at 12/1 to score two or more times during the 90 minutes of action. Rondon is West Brom’s joint-leading scorer in the Premier League this season, and the Baggies will again look to him for inspiration here.

Steve Mounie is 7/1 in the first goalscorer market for Huddersfield, while the forward is available at 3/1 to score at any point during the 90 minutes. The 23-year-old has managed five Premier League goals for the Terriers this season, and was on the scoresheet in the 4-1 win over Bournemouth earlier this month.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

The match result and both teams to score market provides some excellent value. Indeed, the draw under these circumstances is 22/5, with West Brom at 9/2 and Huddersfield as high as 11/1.

2

We fancy:

Correct score of 1-1 is available at 6/1. West Brom have been the draw specialists on home soil this season, while Huddersfield have struggled for results on the road. A low-scoring draw appears a likely outcome in this one.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Huddersfield won 4-1 against Bournemouth in their last Premier League match, and it is 350/1 that Wagner’s side record a 4-1 victory over West Brom at the Hawthorns this weekend.
