One to Watch: Jay Rodriguez

Jay Rodriguez is enjoying a positive start to the new season and is our player to watch in this Championship preview. The West Brom striker grabbed two goals in their midweek win, taking his tally to six in eight games for the season.

With this home game against a struggling Millwall on the horizon, Rodriguez will be on the hunt for more goals. The 29-year-old’s six goals have come in the form of three matchday doubles – will this run continue Saturday? A repeat football prediction of Rodriguez to score two or more is 8/1 with bet365.

West Brom vs Millwall Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

The Hawthorns is one of the toughest places to come in the Championship, after West Brom only dropped down from the top flight this season

The Championship predictions have home side West Brom as strong favourites for the win. The Baggies have been in good form, with last month’s defeat at Middlesbrough their only loss in the last six. Millwall’s only victory in the league so far came just over a month ago and they are now five without success.

West Brom have been putting on a show in front of their own fans. Going in search of a fourth consecutive home win, their last three games at the Hawthorns have seen them score a huge 13 goals. The league’s highest scorers welcome a Millwall team with a few problems. Darren Moore’s men must take advantage and cannot afford to slip up in these games as they did against Bolton on the opening day. West Brom are strong favourites at 7/10.

Millwall are in a sticky patch and a visit to free-scoring West Brom is as tough as it gets in the league. They travel to the West Midlands without a win on the road but they would love to put a halt on their winless run here. It is a tough ask, having only scored once in their four away games, and they will need to hope that their hosts have an off day. The away win would come as a surprise and is an outside football prediction. Millwall are 15/4 to claim all three points.

Snatching a point appears to be the best that the Lions can hope for, and including a draw in your Championship predictions will get you odds of 11/4.

Dwight Gayle is best placed to open the scoring at 7/2 with team mate Jay Rodriguez following closely behind at 9/2. For Millwall, it is Lee Gregory at 15/2 that is favourite to find the net first.

Predicted Score: West Brom 3 - 1 Millwall
