Match Summary

2 We fancy:

Both teams to score. Bournemouth have failed to keep a single clean sheet this season, but have justified their impressive league standing by outscoring their opposition. If Watford push on in their look to return to form, they may make rare mistakes defensively and play in to the football score predictions.

3 It's a long shot, but…

Over 4.5 goals scored. Eddie Howe’s preference for attacking, possession-based football has seen his side concede eight goals in their last three games, whilst Watford have let five in themselves.  If that Premier League prediction comes to pass it will be one of the games of the weekend.

One to Watch: Roberto Pereyra

The former Juventus midfielder started the season in inspired form, with three goals in the opening three games. Pereyra has seen his influence wane over games in recent weeks however, which has consequently seen Watford’s attacking threat limited. With Gerard Deulofeu set to return in coming weeks, the left-wing role may become contentious if the Uruguayan fails to rediscover his scoring boots.

With up to six senior players injured for Saturday’s game, Javi Gracia doesn’t have many options to make changes to last weekend’s squad. The absence of Daryl Janmaat was a big loss for the Hornets, with the right-back likely to miss at least a month of football.

Eddie Howe has few injury concerns, and has seen the benefits of consistent squad selection. The coach is likely to field a widely similar XI to that which beat Crystal Palace in their last game.

Watford vs Bournemouth Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Troy Deeney needs greater support from his Watford teammates

Watford host Bournemouth this weekend looking to win their first game in five, having witnessed their impressive start to the season drop off, their form returning to more like what was expected in pre-season Premier League predictions. The Cherries, on the other hand, have managed to maintain their strong form, which has seen the south coast side establish a seventh placed spot in the league and confound plenty of Premier League previews.

Watford are 11/10 to win, and need their creative players to play better than did against Arsenal. Despite Troy Deeney’s tireless work, the forward had just two shots on target, and with Pereyra and Will Hughes going through dry spells, Gracia’s strikers need to pick up the slack. Weekend football predictions for a Watford win are dependent on that happening.

Bournemouth 23/10 are to take three points from the Hornets, and will take confidence from their recent run of three wins out of four. Relying on an experienced core of players, Eddie Howe will be delighted by the form of Ryan Fraser and Joshua King, who most football predictions agree will be danger men on Saturday.

Deeney is to 7/4 score anytime, and is undoubtedly the focal point of Gracia’s attack, with Andre Gray and the two attacking midfielders rotating around him. Although useful as a target man, the English forward’s primary duty is scoring goals, and he needs to notch a few more if he is to gain the national call-up he desires and has been mooted in football bet tips and predictions.

Callum Wilson is 2/1 to score, having hit the target three times in all competitions, catching the eye for the football betting tips for the weekend. A far less physical forward than his opposite number, Wilson is no less clinical, and may well be the man keeping Deeney  out of the upcoming England squad.

Predicted Score: Watford 2 - 1 Bournemouth
