In a sentence: A massive game for Swansea who could be cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table, and it’ll be a tough one against in-form Crystal Palace.

Last time: Tammy Abraham and Jordan Ayew scored the goals to give the Swans a 2-0 win at Selhurst Park. It was the third of the opening seven games that Palace lost without scoring a goal, and then-manager Frank de Boer only lasted another game in charge.

This time: Swansea are 2/1 for the three points, while Crystal Palace are 13/8 and the draw is 11/5.

You might remember: Last season’s incredible rollercoaster. The Swans were winning 3-1 with 15 minutes left, before three quick goals saw Palace go 4-3 up. There was a lot more drama to come, as two injury time strikes from Fernando Llorente secured an unbelievable victory for the hosts.

Betting Tips & Predictions

The situation at the Liberty is quickly becoming desperate, as some of the early strugglers around Swansea have started to pick up points. Crystal Palace were one of those teams in the mire early on, but having brought in Hodgson the Eagles are now beginning to soar.

Swansea are 2/1 to pick up an invaluable three points, which would surely buy boss Clement some more time. Defeat could see the Swans as many as seven points from safety at the halfway stage of the season. It’s hard to see how chairman Huw Jenkins and the board could afford their manager some Christmas spirit and let him continue after a damaging loss against a relegation rival, especially with the transfer window about to open.

Crystal Palace are 13/8 for the win, and their chairman Steve Parish will be a lot more willing to open the chequebook for former England boss Hodgson come the January sales. After working hard to tighten things up at the back, the goals are now starting to come at the opposite end of the pitch. Benteke will be a miss, but in Wilfried Zaha Palace have one of the Premier League’s most in-form players.

The draw is 11/5 and wouldn’t be the worst result in the world for the visitors, keeping one of the teams they’ve managed to leapfrog in recent weeks at arm’s length. It wouldn’t do Swansea too much good though, as they could use a victory to take them to within two points of the Eagles and keep another club down near the relegation zone.

Tammy Abraham is 11/5 to score anytime, which he’ll be desperate to do after going over two months without a goal. Swansea have won just one game since he last found the net, with the on-loan English youngster losing his place to Bony. Abraham’s 5/1 to open the scoring in this one.

Zaha meanwhile is 6/1 to score the first goal of the game, which would be no surprise considering the form he’s in. The winger has been playing up front of late and looks a lot more composed in front of goal, and he’s priced at 13/5 to score anytime.

Match Summary

Look out for:

The Zaha show. After a torrid time at Manchester United, the 25-year-old is now proving himself at the highest level for Palace. Full of pace, trickery and an ever-improving eye for goal, the big clubs could be circling in the summer. Zaha is 14/1 to score two or more goals, and 100/1 to bag the first hat-trick of his career.

We fancy:

Palace to win and Zaha to score at 7/2. The Englishman will spearhead the Palace attack in Benteke’s absence, and he’ll be a massive threat to the home defence. This result could see Swans boss Clement relieved of his duties.

It’s a long shot, but:

Abraham to score the only goal of the game at 22/1. Back the youngster to put his barren spell behind him as he secures a precious three points for Swansea, potentially saving his manager’s job in the process.
