Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Red cards. Hamilton have received more straight red cards than any other team this season, double that of St Johnstone. With an average of just over one in every four games, they are due another anytime soon. Penalties are often the result of dismissals, and one in this match for either side is 3/1.

2 We fancy:

Under 2.5 goals scored at 13/10. A strong defensive team at home playing against a strong offensive team away tends to make for a low-scoring game.

3 It's a long shot, but…

Antonio Rojano to score anytime at 3/1. The defender has three league goals to his name already this season, and scored in his last game against Partick Thistle.

Defenders Alexander Gogic and Georgios Sarris were both injured in Hamilton’s win last week, ruling them out for a while. Shaun Want also tweaked a hamstring although he should be fit for this weekend’s match, while Darian Mackinnnon has resumed full training and should return in the next few weeks.

St Johnstone vs Hamilton Academical Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

St Johnstone play Hamilton at McDiarmid Park in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday

St Johnstone will hope for a positive result, having been beaten heavily at home by Rangers in their last game. Hamilton have the worst form of any side in the league, although their own win last week may show signs of redemption.

St Johnstone are evens to win, despite failing to impress with just one league win since the turn of the year. In the face of a host of injuries the Perth side still have most of their first XI intact, and will be able to rely on a defence that has conceded seven fewer goals than their opponents.

Hamilton are 3/1 to win and, given their potent attacking threat, will try and take the game to their hosts. Martin Canning’s side are just two points off the relegation play-off spot – albeit with two games in hand – and cannot risk losing many more games.

A draw is 12/5 and as the home team boasts a strong defence and the away side a strong attack, this may be a solid bet.

Murray Davidson is 11/2 to score against Hamilton, having done so twice last weekend. The Accies have the joint worst defence in the league and the midfielder will enjoy plying his trade against them.

David Templeton is 9/2 to score this weekend, and has scored two goals in two games since returning from a red card ban.

Predicted Score: St Johnstone 1 - 1 Hamilton Academical
