Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Paco Alcacer is back in the Spain setup under Luis Enrique, and the striker continued his fine start to the 2018-19 campaign with a brace against Wales on Thursday night. The 25-year-old is available at 4/1 in the first goalscorer market with Paddy Power as part of our UEFA Nations League predictions.

One to Watch: Harry Kane

Harry Kane has insisted that he does not want to be rested against Spain, and the England captain will be looking to return to the scoresheet on Monday night.

Kane’s form at the 2018 World Cup was criticised despite landing the Golden Boot, and he is now without a goal in his last six matches for the Three Lions.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward has struck five times in the Premier League this term, however, and is expected to face Spain despite calls for the striker to be rested following a busy run of fixtures.

Kane will be looking to make his mark against the former world champions, and the 25-year-old is 11/2 in the first goalscorer market with bet365 as part of the best football betting tips.

Spain vs England Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Gareth Southgate’s England face a tough trip to Spain on Monday

Spain will attempt to make it three wins from three matches in Group 4 of League A in the UEFA Nations League when they welcome England on Monday night. Indeed, La Roja have beaten England and Croatia in their two fixtures thus far to top the section, and will be looking to seal their place in the finals of the competition in this match. As for England, only a win will keep the Three Lions’ hopes of progression alive, with Gareth Southgate’s side entering the clash off the back of a fairly uneventful goalless draw with Croatia on Friday night.

Spain are 4/7 to collect all three points against England. As mentioned above in this Nations League preview, La Roja have beaten both England and Croatia in their two matches in the section thus far. The 2010 world champions appear to have turned a corner under the leadership of new head coach Luis Enrique, and ran out 4-1 winners over Wales in a friendly on Thursday night. It is also worth considering as part of our Nations League predictions that Spain have been victorious in five of their last seven international games with England.

England are 19/4 to pick up what would be a morale-boosting win. For all of the praise that came their way following their progression to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, the Three Lions have actually only won one of their last five matches. As mentioned above in this Nations League preview, Southgate’s side drew with Croatia on Friday night, and need a win in this match to stand a chance of progressing having lost their opener to Spain at Wembley. It will be a big test for a team that still has a lot to prove despite their summer success.

The draw is available at 3/1, and it is worth noting that these two teams played out a draw as recently as November 2016. That said, just one of their last 11 meetings in all competitions has produced a draw, and there is no question that Spain will set out to win on Monday night. England, meanwhile, must collect all three points to keep their hopes of progression alive.

Predicted Score: Spain 2 - 0 England
