Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading Premier League scorer, Harry Kane, can add to his tally against Southampton

Southampton will be looking for some revenge on Tottenham when they welcome Mauricio Pochettino’s side to St Mary’s this weekend. The Saints lost 5-2 at Wembley on Boxing Day, and have only won one of the last 11 Premier League meetings between the two teams. Tottenham will enter the match off the back of an impressive 4-0 win over Everton, while Southampton threw away a two-goal lead to share the points away to Watford.

Southampton are 49/10 to triumph as the Saints look for their first Premier League win since the end of November. It is now 10 matches since Mauricio Pellegrino’s side collected all three points in the top flight, with that disappointing run of form seeing them drop to 16th. The Saints have lost two and drawn two of their last four Premier League matches on home soil.

Tottenham are 4/6 as the capital club look to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League. Spurs have won four of their last five in the top flight – including their last two on the road. After a sticky spell, Pochettino’s side have moved to the cusp of the top four once again, and they will be confident of continuing their impressive run of form against Southampton at St Mary’s this weekend.

The draw is 61/20, and it is worth noting that Southampton have shared the points in four of their 12 home Premier League matches this season. That said, Tottenham have only drawn one of their 11 league fixtures on the road. There has also been just one draw in the last 20 matches between these two teams in all competitions.

Shane Long is 9/1 in the first goalscorer market this weekend. The Republic of Ireland international has shown signs of his best form in recent weeks, and certainly has the pace to trouble Tottenham’s defence. The forward is available at 20/1, meanwhile, to register two or more goals against the capital club.

Harry Kane is 13/5 in the first goalscorer market. The Englishman became Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League with a brace against Everton last weekend. He is 4/1 to score two or more goals against Southampton as the 24-year-old looks to continue his brilliant 2017-18 campaign.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

The match result and goals market has some excellent value. It is 71/10 for Tottenham to win with over 4.5 goals scored, and it is worth remembering that there have been plenty of goals in recent matches between these two teams.

2

We fancy:

Correct score of 2-1 Tottenham is available at 8/1. Tottenham will fancy their chances of collecting all three points, but it should be a tight affair. A narrow away win does appear a likely outcome when considering all of the factors.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Southampton to win 2-0 is available at 30/1. The Saints are certainly due a Premier League victory, and showed plenty of positive signs against Watford before being undone by a controversial late goal. Tottenham, meanwhile, have already lost four Premier League matches on their travels this season.
