Last time: The pair played out a 2-2 draw at Villa Park in the reverse match back in December. Aston Villa opened up a two-goal advantage before a double from Clayton Donaldson saw the points shared on the afternoon.
This time: Sheffield United are 13/10 to collect all three points with Aston Villa available at 13/5 and the draw at 23/10.

Two teams with ambitions of Premier League football will lock horns at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night as seventh-placed Sheffield United host fifth-placed Aston Villa. Sheffield United were in FA Cup action at the weekend – recording a 1-0 win over Preston North End to make the fifth round. Aston Villa, however, have had 10 days to prepare for this match, which should be a cracking affair in Sheffield.
Sheffield United are 13/10 to collect all three points as Chris Wilder’s team look to return to the playoff positions. Fulham’s win over Barnsley at the weekend has seen the Blades drop into seventh, but they will be full of confidence after winning 2-1 at Norwich City in the Championship last time out. Sheffield United have only lost one of their last six in the second tier, and will be looking for another positive result here.
Aston Villa are 5/2 to triumph as Steve Bruce’s side attempt to make it five Championship wins in a row. The Villans have beaten Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Barnsley in their last four, and are now stationed inside the playoff positions in the Championship. That said, Bruce’s side have been inconsistent on their travels – winning six and losing five of their 14 away league fixtures.
The draw is 23/10, and when considering that only four points separate the two teams in the Championship table, that is good value. Sheffield United have won eight of their 14 home Championship fixtures this term, but Aston Villa have also picked up six wins on the road. It is also worth remembering that the pair played out a 2-2 draw when they met at Villa Park earlier this season.
Leon Clarke is 17/4 in the first goalscorer market this weekend, while the Sheffield United forward can be backed at 9/5 to get his name on the scoresheet at any point during the 90 minutes. The 32-year-old has managed 15 Championship goals in 25 appearances during the 2017-18 campaign.
Scott Hogan is 15/2 in the first goalscorer market for Aston Villa, while the forward can be backed at 20/1 to score two or more goals in this particular match. Hogan netted a brace against Barnsley in the Championship last time out, and certainly has the credentials to upset Sheffield United’s defence in this match.
Predicted Score: Sheffield United 2 - 2 Aston Villa
Look out for:
Aston Villa have only conceded once in their last four Championship matches, and Bruce’s side can be backed at 5/2 to keep a clean sheet.
Correct score of 2-2 can be backed at 18/1. There is not an awful lot between these two teams, and it should be an open and entertaining affair in Sheffield.
It’s a long shot, but:
Aston Villa won 3-1 when they last travelled to Sheffield United in January 2011, and 3-1 to the visitors on this occasion can be backed as high as 35/1.
