Russia vs Brazil Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: The hosts of the forthcoming World Cup continue their build up by hosting the five time champions and this summer’s second favourites.

Last time: The teams played out a 1-1 draw five years ago this week. Viktor Fayzulin gave Russia a surprise lead, before Fred equalised in the last minute. Football predictions are tough, but Russia have yet to beat Brazil and they are unlikely too in this match either.

This time: Russia are 7/2 to win with Brazil at 4/7 and the draw 13/5.

You might remember: A 5-1 win for Brazil back in 1998. Rivaldo was among the scorers, netting a penalty just before half time to put Brazil 3-0 up.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Will Brazil’s passionate fans be celebrating in Russia this summer?

This international friendly preview will aim to provide you with some guidance on where to bet your money. Football prediction is a tough business, but the form book and the quality of the two squads points towards a Brazil win. However, Russia need to make home advantage count in the summer so will look to do so here too.

Russia are 7/2 to win, and claim their first every victory over their illustrious opponents. Their last friendly win was a 4-2 triumph over South Korea last October. Since then, Russia have drawn with Iran and Spain, and lost to Argentina.

Brazil are available at 4/7, and their form is far stronger than that of their hosts. They have also lost to Argentina within the last year, but since that defeat Brazil have won four and drawn three of their seven matches so football betting tips for the weekend should take that form into account.

The draw is priced at 13/5. Both teams drew in their previous match, as well as their last meeting with each other. With little at stake in a match coming late in the football season, and with another game to play this week, it’s not an outrageous football prediction to fear this one could easily fizzle out into a stalemate.

International friendly predictions are never simple, but Brazil’s attacking quality is such that they should run out relatively easy winners in this match.

Predicted Score: Russia 1 - 3 Brazil

Match Summary

Look out for:

Both teams to score, at 4/5. Football predictions are always aided by a little research, and a look at the recent friendly results for these teams suggests they will both find the net. Russia have seen this in five of their last six friendlies at home, and for Brazil it has occurred in four of their last seven on the road.

We fancy:

Over 2.5 goals, at 8/11. Russia’s last friendly was a 3-3 draw, and Brazil scored three against both Chile and Japan towards the end of 2017. There should be goals in this match, which might be a factor for any both teams to score predictions.

It's a long shot, but:

Brazil to win 4-0, at 25/1. Football score predictions are very difficult to get right, but when the away side can call upon the likes of Coutinho, Douglas Costa, Jesus and Firmino, then a thrashing is definitely not out of the question.
