Betting Tips & Predictions

RB Leipzig go into this game against Zenit St Petersburg at the Red Bull Arena looking to take a lead into the second leg

Two of Europe’s newest names in continental competition, and one of the two are generally considered the most hated team in Germany due to their ties with Red Bull. This perhaps isn’t a game you’d have down as a neutral’s favourite due to their various company links, but in footballing terms it’s set to be a cracking fixture between two talented sides.

A 1-1 draw could be a likely scoreline and with odds of 13/2, it might actually be worth a little look at putting money on that. In the last few games Zenit’s form may put them as favourites and following their recent win against Celtic, a 2-1 win for the Russians is at 14/1 and would stand them in good stead for the second leg.

However, if you fancy Leipzig to get that scoreline instead of Mancini’s men, you’ll get odds of 15/2, but if 2-0 tickles your fancy, 7/1 are the odds you’ll find on that one.

If you can’t pick a winner for this leg but think you know how many goals will be scored, you can get 10/1 on five goals scored, 5/1 on four and if you’re feeling really lucky, six or more goals is priced at 14/1.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

Both teams to score at 10/11. Goals might not be a given though, so it may be wise to go with no goals scored at 10/1.

2

We fancy:

A 2-2 draw would be both intriguing for the second leg and great entertainment, and it’s priced at 18/1.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

A 4-4 draw would be simply fantastic, but with odds of 200/1 we should all be praying that a double Desmond is on the cards.
