Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Poland have only won three of their previous 11 matches against Portugal, and two of those victories have been by the odd goal. Poland to win by two goals on Thursday, however, is available at a very interesting price of 8/1 with Paddy Power.

One to Watch: Robert Lewandowski

One of the deadliest centre-forwards in European football, Robert Lewandowski has once again started the season in fine form for Bayern Munich.

Indeed, the 30-year-old has netted eight times in 10 appearances for the German champions this term, and will lead the Poland line against Portugal on Thursday night.

Lewandowski has 55 goals in his 99 appearances for Poland, including 13 in his last 14 appearances.

The striker will fancy his chances of causing Portugal’s defence a lot of problems in this match, and he can be backed at 10/3 in the first goalscorer market with bet365, which is one of our UEFA Nations League predictions.

Poland will once again be captained by Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, who will be searching for his 56th international goal.

There could also be just a second Poland cap for Krzysztof Piatek. The 23-year-old has an incredible 13 goals in eight appearances for Genoa this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of the Portugal squad for their fixtures against Poland and Scotland.

Helder Costa’s impressive early-season form for Wolverhampton Wanderers has seen the attacker handed a call-up, and he is joined in the squad by club teammate Ruben Neves.

Poland vs Portugal Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

How will Portugal fare without Cristiano Ronaldo against Poland?

Portugal will be looking to take charge of Group 3 of League A in the UEFA Nations League when they travel to Poland on Thursday night. Indeed, the Iberian nation opened their campaign with a 1-0 win over Italy last month, while Poland drew 1-1 against the Italians in their first match. It will actually be just the 11th meeting between Poland and Portugal in all competitions, and their first since Euro 2016. Indeed, Portugal beat Poland on penalties in the quarter-finals en route to winning the competition in France.

Poland are 19/10 as part of the best football betting tips. As mentioned above in this UEFA Nations League preview, Poland opened their Group 3 of League A campaign with a 1-1 draw against Italy on September 7. Jerzy Brzeczek’s side have since drawn 1-1 with Republic of Ireland in a friendly, and have actually only won one of their last five games in all competitions. Meanwhile, Poland have only beaten Portugal in one of their last five matches, with that success coming in 2006.

Portugal are 29/20 to pick up all three points from this match. As mentioned above in this UEFA Nations League preview, Fernando Santos’ side opened their Group 3 of League A campaign with a home win over Italy last month. Andre Silva was on the scoresheet for Portugal during that match, and the victory arrived without a certain Cristiano Ronaldo, who will also be absent for this match. Portugal have only lost one of their last nine matches in all competitions, meanwhile, which is certainly worth considering when reviewing the football predictions market.

The draw is available at 21/10, and it is worth noting as part of our football score predictions that two of the last three meetings between Poland and Portugal have finished level. Poland have also drawn each of their last two matches, and Portugal two of their last four, which should certainly be considered.

Predicted Score: Poland 1 - 1 Portugal
