One to Watch: Lewis Grabban

Lewis Grabban has started the season in fine form, helping himself to four goals in his first nine games. The 30-year-old striker has also contributed an assist, and his performances will be crucial to Forest’s hopes of reaching the play-offs this term.

Grabban hit eight goals in 15 games on loan at Aston Villa last season, bringing his temporary club agonisingly close to promotion. Forest paid around £6million to bring him to the City Ground, which could turn out to be a very shrewd piece of business, and he’s 9/2 with BetBright to open the scoring on Wednesday night.

Hilel Soudani is the only injury concern for Forest, as he recovers from a knee injury he picked up earlier this month. Apart from that, Aitor Karanka has a fully-fit squad to choose from, which can only help the hosts in the football predictions for this game.

Neil Harris can’t blame his side’s awful start to the season on injuries. He has no players on the treatment table at the moment, but even that doesn’t seem set to help his cause for this midweek round of Championship predictions.

Nottingham Forest vs Millwall Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Nottingham Forest host struggling Millwall at the City Ground on Wednesday night

Millwall come into this Championship preview on the back of an awful run. The Lions have done anything but roar over recent weeks, losing four games on the bounce. Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, have made a decent start, and they should be comfortable in this one.

Forest are 19/20 for the win, which would seem like a sensible football prediction for this game. Karanka’s side are unbeaten in five, and have won their last four home games in all competitions. The Tricky Trees may be down in 11th in the table at the moment, but they’re only a point off the play-off places, and five behind leaders West Brom.

Millwall are 15/4 to claim just their second victory of the season, and their start to the new campaign has been alarming after they narrowly missed out on the play-offs last term. There was plenty of encouragement after their first three games, drawing at home to Middlesbrough and away at Blackburn, before a win over Derby followed a League Cup victory over Gillingham. They’ve lost six of their last seven now though, and are one to avoid in your football betting tips for the weekend.

The draw is 13/5, and might be the best the visitors can hope for. Harris’s side did take a point off early pacesetters Leeds in mid-September, but that was at the Den and they’ve been dreadful on the road. The Lions have lost their last three away games without scoring a goal, and they’re just a point above bottom club Preston coming into this midweek round of Championship fixtures.

Daryl Murphy is 5/1 for the first goal on Wednesday night, as he goes in search of his third goal of the campaign. It might be tough to look past Forest and favourite Grabban, but Lee Gregory has two goals to his name for Millwall so far this term. He’s available at 15/2 to break the deadlock in this one.

Predicted Score: Nottingham Forest 2 - 0 Millwall
