Lionel Messi is on course for another title but will he be rested here?

Barcelona looks nailed on to win La Liga this season, having opened up a eight-point lead over Atletico after beating them last weekend. They are yet to taste defeat in league competition this season, and that is unlikely to change against a desperately poor Malaga side.

The Andalusians are as likely to go down to the Segunda as Barcelona are to win the league title, and they will find it really tough going against Valverde’s side. The only hope for the hosts is that the former Athletic Bilbao manager opts to rest some of his star names, with their Champions League tie against Chelsea just days away.

Barcelona will win here, it is a matter of by how many, Barcelona to win and a total goals of over 2.5 is at 5/6.

With Valverede set to ring the changes in this game, squad players such as Deulofeu, Lucas Digne and Paco Alcacer – with the former Valencia man 11/10 to score anytime.

Match Summary

Look out for:

Lionel Messi is in incredible form in recent weeks, with little seeming to be beyond the Argentina international – who has netted three goals in his last three games.

He has netted two hat tricks so far this season for Barcelona, and he is 13/5 to score first in what should be a routine afternoon for both him and his team mates.

We fancy:

This is a match of a team in excellent form this season and a team in woeful form in 2017-18. Malaga’s chances of surviving in La Liga for next season look slim at best, and Barcelona should hammer another nail into their coffin.

It could be a goal fest for the Catalan side, and a 4-0 win does not look beyond the realms of possibility, priced at 12/1.

It’s a long shot, but:

Despite their fine form this season, Barcelona have been slow-ish starters in La Liga, racking a number of second half goals.

They have not led a game inside the first 15 minutes in their last nine La Liga games, but given Malaga’s struggles they will wan to come flying out of the traps.

They are 16/5 to be leading Malaga after 15 minutes.
