Leicester City vs Newcastle Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: This weekend’s fixture at the King Power Stadium sees two of the in-form sides in the league meet, as Leicester City host Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Last time: Leicester City were 3-2 winners in the reverse fixture in December, as an 86th minute own goal from Newcastle’s Ayoze Perez handed City all three points.

This time: Leicester are priced at EVENS, with the draw at 5/2 and Newcastle are out at 33/10 for an away win.

You might remember: The last time Newcastle won in Leicester back in December 1999, when Alan Shearer was on the score sheet in a 2-1 victory for the Magpies.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy is one to watch for goals against Newcastle

In this Premier League preview, we will be looking at the league fixture between Leicester City and an in-form Newcastle United. United have gained 10 points from a possible 15 in the last five matches, whilst Leicester are undefeated in their last four league games.

Leicester City sit in 8th position currently, three points off 7th placed Burnley and possible European football next season. They have won their last two games in the league, scoring six and conceding just the one. Their previous record in this fixture reads well, winning the last five meetings against Newcastle, four of which have come in the league. They have not lost to Newcastle at home since 1999, a run stretching over seven matches, but that shouldn’t be a factor in Premier League predictions in 2018.

Newcastle United’s recent good form has seen them move away from the relegation trouble and they now sit in a comfortable 12th position. 33/10 looks good value for them here given they have lost just two of their last 11 games in the league – and those losses came away at Liverpool and Manchester City, so that could be one of the football betting tips for the weekend. The odds on United stand out for us here as one of our free football betting tips at just a little over 3/1.

Leicester City’s home form of late has been impressive, losing just two of their last 10 at the King Power. Despite not losing, they have drawn their last three to the likes of Swansea, Stoke and Bournemouth at home, all three games finishing 1-1. Newcastle have struggled on their travels so far this season but have lost just two of their last six (to Liverpool and Manchester City) and have drawn two of their last four, making the draw at 5/2 one of our football predictions here.

Jamie Vardy is a player who is bang in form at the moment with 15 goals so far in the league, six of which have come in the last nine games. He is 13/10 in this game to score and given his recent form, that is a very good price and is one of the leading football predictions in this one. Newcastle have kept just one clean sheet in their last six away games and if Leicester are going to score, Vardy is the man to go for.

Rafa Benitez normally plays very defensively away from home and his side do not concede a lot of goals in general and are a tough team to break down. A point here would be a good one for the away side and their recent form would suggest they can at least take home a point in this one. One of our football predictions for today would be in the double chance market, with ‘Newcastle or Draw’ at 10/11 looking good value.

Predicted Score: Leicester City 1 - 1 Newcastle United

Match Summary

Look out for:

One of our Premier League predictions in this one would be the draw at 5/2. Leicester have drawn three of their last five at home and Newcastle are notoriously a tough team to beat, especially at the moment. A point would not be a poor result for either side.

We fancy:

‘Newcastle/Draw’ in the double chance 10/11. Newcastle are in good form and a difficult team to beat but Leicester have a good record at home so betting on the draw or Newcastle looks a good way to go.

It’s a long shot, but:

There are some interesting football score predictions for this one, not least 1-1 at 13/2, not a massive price but still something that could be a nice earner. Leicester have drawn by this scoreline in three games in a row at home of late and given we like the draw here, 1-1 is a good way to go.
