Leeds vs Sunderland Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: This week’s Championship preview sees Sunderland travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United.

Last time: Leeds came out on top in the reverse fixture at the Stadium of Light. A goal from Samuel Saiz in the first half, followed up by Stuart Dallas in the second did the job for the Whites, corresponding to football bet tips and predictions.

This time: Leeds are 10/11 to win, Sunderland are 3/1 and a draw is 12/5.

You might remember: The two sides last met in the Premier League in December 2002. Leeds won that fixture, despite Michael Proctor scoring first, thanks to goals from James Milner and Robbie Fowler.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Leeds United take on Sunderland at Elland Road on Saturday, with both sides desperate for the points

Sunderland are desperate to avoid a second consecutive relegation, but football predictions have them as the underdog this weekend. Leeds have struggled recently themselves, but have enough points in the bank to guarantee a mid-table finish.

Leeds are 10/11 to win, and will be glad to end a tough run of games that includes Wolves, Middlesbrough and Fulham. If Heckingbottom’s side want to push for a top 10 finish, they will hope that the football score predictions for this match, which suggest a Leeds win, are correct.

Sunderland are 3/1 to win, and need to do so for half of their remaining games if they are to escape relegation. Coleman’s side has a job to do with football betting tips for the weekend strongly in Leeds’ favour.

A draw is 12/5 and would be an unsatisfactory result for either side, both of whom have a mountain to climb to improve on their current league position.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga is 13/8 to score anytime, with the German Leeds United’s leading goalscorer this season. He is leading Championship predictions for this match at 21/5 to score first.

George Honeymoon is 22/5 to score against Leeds, with the midfielder having hit the net in his last two games. With just five goals to his name this season, the 23-year-old will be leading Sunderland’s weekend football predictions.

Predicted Score: Leeds United 2 - 0 Sunderland

Match Summary

Look out for:

Kalvin Phillips. The English defensive midfielder has impressed for Leeds this term, having played 34 games during the season at just 22 years of age. In addition to his defensive duties, Philips has five goals to his name.

We fancy:

Leeds to win and over 2.5 goals scored. Sunderland have conceded 72 goals in the league this season, and the hosts will fancy their chances of increasing that tally on Saturday.

It’s a long shot, but:

Aiden McGeady is 9/1 to score first. McGeady is Sunderland’s top scorer with seven goals this season, and football predictions see him as the Black Cats’ best hope.
