Match Summary

One to Watch: Kris Boyd

The veteran striker has always had a knack of scoring goals (at least when he’s not in the Sky Sports pundit’s chair) and will always know how to grab a goal or two when his side need him to.

Does he start as often as he used to now that he’s closer to 35 than he is to 30? Of course not, but his experience on the subs bench and making his appearances, albeit sporadically, can really help Kilmarnock from now until the end of the season. Bet365 are offering 8/1 for a 2-0 Killie win and while they don’t have odds on Boyd to grab a goal, expect him to play a part in any kind of win, regardless of what Scottish Premiership previews suggest.

Kilmarnock vs Motherwell Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

A home game is just what Kilmarnock need to maintain their post-Celtic form

Whenever someone beats Celtic in the Scottish Premiership these days, it’s a big deal. When Kilmarnock came from a goal behind to beat the champions with the help of a last minute goal, it caused a shock that Killie’s boss Steve Clarke will feel that the win is testament to the talent at his disposal in this team.

Their opponents this week, Motherwell, aren’t doing so well themselves, without a win in two and are just four points off of the foot of the table. Their only win of the season came away from home so that may offer up some encouragement, although with Bet365 having them down as 11/4 to win, it may not be the best of Scottish Premiership predictions to back them for a win.

However, one of the most interesting football betting tips for the weekend does seem to be backing Kilmarnock, who haven’t lost in their last two meetings against the Well and could put together two wins on the bounce, something that has seemed beyond them in their inconsistent start to the season. It’s priced at 1/1 and would hardly go down among past outrageous football predictions.

The Celtic win may have provided a boost, but the big challenge now is to keep the form going and not falter after the Lord Mayor’s Show.  If Kilmarnock can keep up their form, they’ll prove to be one of the football betting tips for the weekend.

Predicted Score: Kilmarnock 3 - 1 Motherwell
