Match Summary

One to Watch: Josh Magennis

Josh Magennis joined Bolton Wanderers from Charlton Athletic during the summer, and arrived at the club having scored 10 times in all competitions last term.

The forward has started the 2018-19 campaign in impressive fashion, scoring three times in eight Championship appearances.

He last registered against Queens Park Rangers last weekend, and will fancy his chances against Ipswich when considering that Paul Hurst’s team have really struggled in the early weeks of the season.

Magennis is at 6/1 in the first goalscorer market with Paddy Power, which should certainly be considered as part of the best football betting tips for the weekend.

Ipswich Town vs Bolton Wanderers Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Will home advantage help Ipswich register their first win of the season?

Ipswich Town’s bid to record their first win of the 2018-19 Championship season will continue at home to Bolton Wanderers this weekend. Paul Hurst’s team are yet to record a victory in the league this term, with a total of four defeats leaving them bottom of the division. Bolton, meanwhile, sit in 15th position on 11 points, but they are without a win in their last four Championship matches. Ipswich won the corresponding match between the two teams last season, and will be eyeing an important three points in front of their own supporters on Saturday afternoon.

Ipswich are 21/20 to collect all three points as part of the best football betting tips. As mentioned above in this Championship preview, Ipswich are yet to win in the league this season. That said, they have drawn all four of their matches on home soil, and held high-flying Brentford on Tuesday night. Ipswich have also not lost against Bolton in any competition since January 2005, and are currently on a run of 10 Championship matches unbeaten against the Trotters, which is worth considering when analysing the football predictions market.

Bolton are 5/2 to triumph on the road this weekend. Phil Parkinson’s side started the season extremely well, but their form has suffered in recent weeks. Indeed, the Trotters are without a victory in their last four Championship matches, and three of those have ended in defeat. That said, they have won twice on the road in the league this season, which is worth considering as part of our Championship predictions. Goals have been a problem though, managing just nine in their eight matches.

The draw is 12/5, and as mentioned above in this Championship preview, Ipswich have drawn all four of their home league matches this season. Two of the last three Championship matches between these two teams have finished level, meanwhile, and there is not an awful lot between them when it comes to overall quality.

Predicted Score: Ipswich Town 1 - 1 Bolton Wanderers
