Away Barnsley

Match Summary

1 Look out for:

In any survival battle a hero needs to emerge and score goals in the key end-of-season games, and Barnsley will be hoping that Oli McBurnie can be that player.

The Scottish forward joined on loan from Swansea in January, and has netted seven goals since his arrival, featuring regularly in Championship predictions.

He has scored two goals in his last four appearances and he is 11/2 to score first on Tuesday night.

2 We fancy:

Barnsley are really making a fist of their survival challenge, and while Championship predictions a month ago would have had them down to lose this one, a corner looks to have been turned.

New boss Paul Heckingbottom has been a big part of that change in fortunes in recent weeks, and they could yet dig themselves out.

A 2-0 Barnsley win looks to be one of the most interesting football score predictions for this game, priced at 11/1.

3 It's a long shot, but…

Despite their dismal form in recent weeks, it is always difficult to go fully against a higher placed home side.

Waghorn has been Ipswich’s leading attacker this season, scoring 14 Championship goals, but he has scored just four in 2018.

He did bag against Barnsley earlier this season, and he is 17/10 to score anytime on Tuesday night.

Team News

Ipswich Town's Last Six:

Won: 0 Drawn: 2 Lost: 4

Ipswich have a number of injury concerns to contend with ahead of this clash. Defensive pair Luke Chambers and Myles Kenlock are both already ruled out, with Cole Skuse also doubtful. Theses absences could mean starts for Tristan Nydam and Dominic Iorfa.

Barnsley's Last Six:

Won: 1 Drawn: 2 Lost: 3

Barnsley have no major injury concerns ahead of the trip to East Anglia. Midfielders George Moncur and Lloyd Isgrove are both carrying minor knocks, but should be passed fit.

Ipswich Town vs Barnsley Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Ipswich haven’t been in great form at Portman Road recently, and Barnsley will look to take advantage of that on Tuesday night

Ipswich’s season is spiralling into mediocrity, with their strong start to 2017-18 the only reason they have not been sucked into the relegation mire.

McCarthy’s side are without a win in their last six games, and the former Republic of Ireland boss is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Barnsley are fighting for their Championship lives, and at the moment they are two points off safety, but with a game in hand.

While the Tykes’ form has been slightly better than Ipswich’s, they will find it tough going at Portman Road. They will hope to make use of the Tractor Boys patchy home form though, with three defeats in their last six home games.

Given Barnsley’s need for points, they look to be a strong choice to pick up all three points in your football bet tips and predictions, with an away win at 13/8.

If you are looking for something a bit more specific in your football predictions, it is worth remembering that Ipswich have scored just once in their last five games and Barnsley have scored seven in that same run.

With that in mind, a Barnsley win with over 1.5 goals is priced at 11/4.

Predicted Score: Ipswich Town 0 - 2 Barnsley
