Match Summary

2 We fancy:

Tottenham to win and Dele Alli to score. The Spurs midfielder was dropped against Brighton after looking jaded in his previous games. Alli also looked a shadow of his former self at the World Cup and was reportedly playing with a minor injury, but he should be able to push on once he gets his freshness back.

One to Watch: Erik Lamela

The Tottenham attacker has been on fire, scoring or assisting in all of his appearances this season, and is playing with a far greater intensity that seen in his previous performances in a Spurs shirt. If Lamela is able to reach the level he did with Roma, Pochettino will finally have an inverted winger to play on the right.

David Wagner is without new signing Ramadan Sobhi, who has a knee injury. As a result, Elias Kachunga and Rajiv van La Parra are set to start on the flanks, with Alex Pritchard pushing for a place.

With Hugo Lloris still out, Mauricio Pochettino has a decision to make over Michel Vorm or Paulo Gazzaniga – who played in Tottenham’s last game. Otherwise, it’s business as usual for Spurs and either Son Heung-min or Lucas Moura out wide.

Huddersfield vs Tottenham Hotspur Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Will Dele Alli regain his mojo at Huddersfield?

Huddersfield Town play Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, desperate to lift themselves off the bottom of the Premier League. Spurs recovered from their worst-ever run under Pochettino with a win last weekend and should be in good form going into this one.

Huddersfield are 7/1 to win and have looked a far cry from the organised collective who secured Premier League safety last season. The Terriers are yet to win this season, and a loss on Saturday would be their third in a row. Poor investment over the summer and a limited game plan may well see David Wagner’s side relegated this year.

Tottenham are 2/5 to win and will be confident of doing so after overcoming their miniature slump to beat Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend. With Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela available again, Mauricio Pochettino will enjoy the benefit of squad rotation, although he remains without a replacement No 9 to take the weight off Harry Kane.

A draw is 7/2 and would be a top result for Huddersfield, given their recent form. Wagner has set his team up to defend in their last few games, however, and they haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet.

Laurent Depoitre is 9/1 to score first, although the striker will be primarily charged with being Huddersfield’s outlet against the Spurs onslaught. Even so, the visitors’ defence looks slightly unsteady without Hugo Lloris in goal.

Kane is 9/4 to score the first goal and may have benefitted from scoring a penalty against Brighton. The England forward has looked slightly jaded this summer, so he could do with a few goals to get him fully firing again

Predicted Score: Huddersfield 0 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur
