Huddersfield Town’s Steve Mounie made a good start to life in the Premier League after a summer move to the Terriers

It will be 11th against 15th in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when Huddersfield welcome West Ham to the John Smith’s Stadium. Not since 1971 have these two teams met at the home of Huddersfield in the league, but West Ham recorded a 2-0 victory in the reverse match in the capital earlier this season. Just two points separate the teams in the table ahead of what is a very interesting match-up.

Huddersfield are 7/4 to triumph as they look to record their fifth home Premier League win of the campaign. David Wagner’s side lost 3-0 at Leicester City in their last league match on New Year’s Day, but are unbeaten in their last two league fixtures on home soil. The Terriers might be 11th in the table, but just four points separates them from the relegation zone after 22 matches of the season.

West Ham are 21/10 to collect all three points as they look to record just their second away Premier League win of the campaign. The Hammers picked up a point in their last league match at Tottenham Hotspur on January 4 though, and are now on a run of four games without a defeat in all competitions. There has been improvement under David Moyes, but the London club are still very close to the bottom three.

The draw is available at 21/10, and it is worth noting that West Ham have drawn five of their 12 away Premier League matches this season. Huddersfield have also shared the points on four occasions on home soil, and Wagner’s side have drawn 0-0 in their last two league games at the John Smith’s Stadium. There is value to be had here.

Steve Mounie is 11/2 in the first goalscorer market, while Huddersfield’s record signing can be backed at 5/2 to score at any point during the 90 minutes. The Frenchman will be looking to add to the four league goals that he has already managed this season.

Andy Carroll is 6/1 in the first goalscorer market this weekend, while the Englishman can be backed at 11/4 in the anytime market with the view to him starting on the bench. The West Ham forward recently netted twice against West Bromwich Albion to secure a big three points for his team.

Match Summary

Look out for:

The first goalscorer market has plenty of value. Pedro Obiang netted a stunner against Tottenham, and he can be backed at 33/1 to net first here. West Ham teammate Angelo Ogbonna, meanwhile, is 50/1 in the same market.

We fancy:

Correct score of 1-1 is available at 11/2. As noted, Huddersfield have drawn their last two Premier League matches on home soil, and West Ham shared the points in their last away clash at Tottenham. It seems a likely result this weekend.

It’s a long shot, but:

Huddersfield to win 3-1 is available at 30/1. The Terriers have already beaten Manchester United on home soil this season, and will fancy their chances of overcoming West Ham.
