Hearts vs Aberdeen Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: Aberdeen head to Edinburgh looking to put their stamp on second place in the Scottish Premiership whilst for Hearts, the focus now turns to next season.

Last time: Murrayfield was the destination for Aberdeen when the pair met earlier in the season as Hearts’ Tynecastle ground underwent some work. A 0-0 draw ensued, leaving both teams with plenty of hope for the season ahead back in September.

This time: Hearts are 5/2 to win with Aberdeen at 11/10 and the draw 9/4.

You might remember: During December 2010, Hearts were at the top of their game and thumped Aberdeen 5-0. Although our Scottish Premiership preview does not predict that again, anything is possible when it comes to Scottish football.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Hearts take on Aberdeen at Tynecastle in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, with the visitors looking to maintain their grip on second place

The onus is on Aberdeen as they bid to retain second spot in the Scottish Premiership from Rangers. Remarkably, Derek McInnes’s side are only nine points off Celtic at the top of the table, however, that looks a stretch too far. For Hearts, there is no fear of relegation nor any hope of European football, meaning Craig Levin’s side can play with the pressure off. One of the football predictions for this game is for Aberdeen to start tense in a game they must win.

Hearts are 5/2 to win which does not give the most amount of confidence considering the Jambos have not beaten the Dons in their last three home ties. Although it is a good price for a home side, one of the football score predictions for this game is for the result to lie elsewhere.

Aberdeen are 11/10 to win and that is one of the best football betting tips for the weekend. The Dons have won two of their last three trips to Tynecastle and have won over half of their away games this season.

The draw is 9/4 which is a result that does neither side any favours. However, it is a likely scenario as the last two encounters between the pair have resulted in a stalemate.

Under 2.5 goals in the game is at 4/5 and today’s football prediction is for exactly that. It has been 206 minutes since a goal was scored in a contest between the two when Anthony O’Connor netted for Aberdeen in May 2017.

Aberdeen to keep a clean sheet is 7/4. Hearts have only found the back of the net 18 times at home this season making a Dons clean sheet one of the best football betting tips in Scotland this weekend.

Predicted Score: Hearts 0 - 1 Aberdeen

Match Summary

Look out for:

A very quiet first half. As mentioned above, it has been nearly two and a half games since either side scored a goal in a game against one another with Aberdeen set to close up from the off. For the score to be 0-0 at half-time is 7/4, which is without doubt one of the top Scottish Premiership predictions for this fixture.

We fancy:

Both teams to score no result at 19/20. We have highlighted the sides’ lack of goals against one another and with just 18 home goals all season and nothing to play for, it could be a case of early holidays for the Jambos.

It’s a long shot, but:

Hearts to win 5-0 is 300/1, and although one of the more outlandish football predictions, they did do it to Aberdeen back in 2010.
