Hamilton Academical, Football
    27/01/2018 Kick Off:  3:00 pm SuperSeal Stadium V Predicted Score:1 - 1

    Away Dundee

      Match Summary

      1 Look out for:

A late Hamilton goal. Of the Accies thirty strikes this season, 33% have come on or after the 75th minute. For some reason, Martin Canning’s side take a little while to start firing and will find it hard to break Dundee down.

For a goal to be scored after 73:59 is 5/6 and with current form, that could be a very smart move indeed.

      2 We fancy:

A 1-1 draw pays 11/2 and that is pretty good value for a pair of sides who have shared that exact result four times since 2014.

With plenty of pressure on the game, it is likely to be nervy with plenty of late drama ensuring both sides get a crack at the action.

      3 It's a long shot, but…

Hamilton beat Dundee at the SuperSeal Stadium at the beginning of the season and for that to happen again is 20/1.

Dundee have learnt much since then, but Hamilton have scored seven more goals this term than their opponents meaning that of one side is going to claim it, it will be the Accies.

      Hamilton Academical's Last Six:

Hamilton Academical’s last Six Games: Won: 2 Drawn: 0 Lost: 4

Accies boss Martin Canning is still without centre forward Antonio Rojano who is still out with an injured foot.

Whilst defensive pair of Georgios Sarris and Giannis Skondras will both miss out through suspension.

        Dundee's Last Six:

Dundee’s Last six games: Won: 2 Drawn: 2 Lost: 2

Neil McCann enters the game with a fully fit squad to choose from and it is most likely he will stick with the side that claimed a 2-2 draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle last weekend.

That means goalscorers AJ Leitch-Smith and Mark O’Hara are set to continue in the line-up at New Douglas Park.

Hamilton Academical vs Dundee Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Hamilton ended a run of eight home games without a win against Ross County

A crunch tie closer to the bottom of the Scottish Premiership table than the top. The result could have a significant factor as both sides aim to stay clear of Partick Thistle in 11th. However, with just three points separating all three sides. The pressure is well and truly on in the battle to avoid the relegation playoff spot.

Hamilton Academical are 5/4 to win and at slight odds against could prove a value proposition. However, with only two homes all season, they may have to rely a little n their opponent’s inability to win away from home having only recorded two victories on their travels. In fact, Dundee have the second worst points per away game performance percentage in the league at just 36% making the home win look a better option.

Dundee are 21/10 to win and the length of those odds is somewhat highlighted above, they struggle on the road. They have also only found the back of the net 10 times in 11 road games and sit third bottom of the away form table. However, with a fully fit squad to choose from and only one point separating the two sides in the league, a Dundee win would not be the biggest surprise.

The draw is 12/5 and could well be the best option to take. With only a collective four wins between them (as seen above) a share of the spoils would be a fair and acceptable outcome for the two managers. Hamilton have also recorded three stalemates at home and although they possess slightly better attacking players, Dundee will turn up looking to play for the draw and boast a better defence than the Accies having conceded 32 goals to Hamilton’s 34.

Under 2.5 goals in the game is at 19/20 and neither side have been prolific in front of goal this season. At home, Hamilton have managed thirteen goals in ten games and on the road Dundee have managed just ten goals in eleven games. Goals galore is not expected here especially when you consider Hamilton have only scored an average of one goal per game in their last three games.

Draw and under 2.5 goals is 10/3 and just offers more value for the reasons highlighted above. Dundee will turn up looking to take advantage of their superior defence whilst Hamilton will aim to focus on their superior attack which will end up cancelling each other out and make for a low scoring stalemate.

Predicted Score: Hamilton Academical 1 - 1 Dundee
