In a sentence: Two of the World Cup favourites go up against each other in a mouthwatering friendly at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.

Last time: Brazilian scars still remain from the last meeting between the sides, when Germany smashed the 2014 hosts 7-1 in the World Cup semi-finals. It’d be a brave football prediction to forecast a repeat of that scoreline.

This time: Germany are the 11/8 favourites in this game, while Brazil are 21/10 and the draw is 5/2.

You might remember: A happier occasion for Brazil against Germany in the World Cup. The Selecao were 2-0 winners in the 2002 World Cup final, with Ronaldo scoring both goals to secure a fifth triumph in Japan.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Reigning world champions Germany play Brazil in a rerun of their infamous 2014 World Cup semi-final

Although the result of this game is hardly going to have a major bearing on whose hands raise the World Cup trophy come the summer, it could give us an idea of the shape both countries are in heading into the Russia showpiece.

Germany are 11/8 for the win in this international friendly preview, after extending their unbeaten run to 22 games with a draw against Spain on Friday. Die Mannschaft last tasted defeat against France in the semi-finals of Euro 2016, and they’ll feature heavily in plenty of international friendly predictions this week.

Brazil are 21/10 for the victory, as they look to exorcise some of those painful demons from four years ago. Tite’s side must cope without Neymar once again after their star man missed the massacre in 2014, but they still have the attacking players who can hurt the Germans.

The draw is 5/2 and could be one of the best football betting tips for this friendly, considering neither side will want to give any ground so close to the World Cup. Germany have drawn their last three games against England, France and Spain, while Brazil have drawn three of their last six.

Timo Werner is the 27/5 favourite to open the scoring on Tuesday, while Manchester City striker Jesus isn’t far behind at 6/1. With the likes of 13/2 Thomas Muller and 10/1 Philippe Coutinho on the pitch, there’s some decent value if you want to base some football predictions on the first goalscorer market.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

Goals. There won’t be too many football predictions anticipating a drab goalless draw in this game, with an over 3.5 goals bet priced at 11/4.

2

We fancy:

A score draw at 39/11. Brazil will be desperate to exact a measure of revenge against the reigning world champions, but Low’s side are a tough proposition. A 2-2 scoreline has odds of 16/1.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Another 7-1 Germany victory would shake the footballing world once again, and at 500/1 it’s one of the highest value football score predictions you can go for.
