Fulham currently have the best six game form in the division, and have lost just one of their last 12 league matches. Forest may have recently knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup, but their league form is very patchy and an away win would be a surprise in this match.
Fulham are 7/10 to win, and with good reason as they have won their previous five league matches in a row at Craven Cottage. It seems bizarre that they only won one of their first nine prior to that, but they are flying at the moment and are deservedly strong favourites.
Nottingham Forest are priced at 43/10 to head home with three points. They may have won just once in their last six on the road, but it was last time out and it was against the league leaders, Wolves. That result should give them plenty of confidence ahead of their trip to west London.
The draw is available at 16/5, and is worth considering as only Brentford have drawn more home games than Fulham in 2017/18. No team has drawn fewer than Forest though, and the teams’ contrasting form suggests this may still be an unlikely outcome.
Ryan Sessegnon is 6/1 to score the first goal, or 21/10 to net at any time. He is in fabulous form at the moment, with six goals in his last four league appearances. Sessegnon is also Fulham’s top league scorer this season, with 11. It’s hard to believe he is only 17 years old.
Kieran Dowell is priced at 18/5 to get on the score sheet, and 10/1 to open the scoring. The on-loan Everton midfielder is Forest’s top scorer in the Championship in 2017/18, and seven of his nine goals have come away from home.
Predicted Score: Fulham 2 - 1 Nottingham Forest
Look out for:
A low card count. This has been a polite fixture historically, with both sides picking up just six yellow cards apiece across the previous six meetings.
Both teams to score, at 69/100. Fulham have seen this 19 times so far this season, which is the most in the Championship. Meanwhile, Forest have seen it nine times on the road, which is the joint-third most when playing away. Expect both teams to find the net here.
It’s a long shot, but:
Nottingham Forest to win 2-0, at 33/1. If they can do it at Wolves then they can do it at Fulham, and Slaviša Jokanović’s side have to stop winning at home sooner or later.
