Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Tom Lawrence.  The forward will be keen to rediscover his form having played only 34 minutes of football since his red card against Rotherham in mid-September. Lawrence has three goals to his name already this season, and is a valuable threat on the counter.

2 We fancy:

A low-coring game. Despite Norwich’s recent form, they have won all of their five games by a one goal margin, and saw a goalless draw in their last match. Derby have scored one less than their opposition this season, and have also kept a tighter defence.

One to Watch: Teemu Pukki

The free transfer from Brondby has been a revelation for Norwich this season. Having been pushed into the striker role by Daniel Farke, the Finland international scored in five consecutive games for club and country, with all but one counting as the winning strike. Pukki’s run came to an end last week against Wigan, and he will be keen to get back on the scoresheet this Wednesday.

Club captain Curtis Davies is set to miss out yet again for the Rams, who are also without Ikechi Anya and George Evans. Frank Lampard may tinker with his starting XI, with Tom Lawrence likely to start.

Having seemingly found a winning formula, it is unlikely that Daniel Farke will make many changes to his side. The German manager may be without up to seven senior players, so rotation is not much of an option.

Derby County vs Norwich City Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Will Martyn Waghorn finally score at home for Derby?

Derby County look to end Norwich City’s five game winning run on Tuesday, as the Rams host the Canaries. After the highs of beating Manchester United in the cup, Frank Lampard’s boys came crashing down to earth this weekend, with a disappointing draw to Bolton Wanderers.

Derby are 11/10 to win, and it is important that they do, given their recent slide down the table. Despite impressing neutrals, Lampard’s side have only won one out of their last four league games, and the manager will have to avoid being distracted by the prospect of a visit to Stamford Bridge in the cup.

Norwich are 23/10 to keep their winning run going. The Canaries started their campaign poorly this season, but have recently burst int life with consecutive wins over the likes of Middlesborough, QPR and Wigan. Having been given little hope over the summer, Daniel Farke’s side could well be promotion contenders if they keep up this form.

A draw is  , and is relatively likely given the teams’ respective strength. Norwich may have form in their favour, but Derby are at home, and rested key players in the defeat.

David Nugent is 7/4 to start, despite a relatively slow start to the season by his standards. The striker might have just two goals, but has played a valuable hold up role, allowing Derby’s midfields to burst forward on the counter attack.

Teemu Pukki is 2/1 to score anytime, with five league goals so far and counting. The Finnish forward may not be the biggest or the fastest of forwards, but has looked absolutely lethal so far this season.

Predicted Score: Derby County 1 - 1 Norwich City
