Match Summary

1 Look out for:

This is not a fixture which has produced many goals. Indeed, five of their last seven meetings have finished 1-0. Under 1.5 goals can be backed at 9/4 with Paddy Power, which is certainly worth considering as part of our football score predictions.

One to Watch: Martyn Waghorn

Martyn Waghorn is yet to find the back of the net for Derby County since joining the club from Ipswich over the summer. The striker will come up against his former club on Tuesday night, though, and will be keen to impress.

Waghorn managed 16 Championship goals for Ipswich during the 2017-18 campaign, before moving to Derby on a three-year contract. Head coach Frank Lampard is expected to keep faith with the centre forward for this match, despite Nugent coming off the bench to score in the 2-1 defeat to Millwall.

Waghorn is available at 4/1 with Paddy Power in the first goalscorer market on Tuesday night, and we fancy the 28-year-old as part of our Championship predictions.

Ipswich Town will be without the services of Adetayo Edun after the 20-year-old picked up a red card in the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last Saturday.

Freddie Sears could come into the XI, while Kayden Jackson will also come into the thinking of boss Paul Hurst for the clash on Tuesday night.

Derby County vs Ipswich Town Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Will Derby manage to replace Matej Vydra’s goals?

Derby County will look to bounce back from successive Championship defeats when they welcome Ipswich Town to Pride Park on Tuesday night. Indeed, Frank Lampard’s side have lost to Leeds United and Millwall in their last two league fixtures, and they will come up against an Ipswich team that has taken two points from their first three fixtures of the 2018-19 campaign. Ipswich were actually victorious in the corresponding fixture last season, with Callum Connolly scoring the only goal of the match back in November.

Derby are 8/13 as part of the best football betting tips. As mentioned above in this Championship preview, the Rams will enter the match off the back of successive league defeats. Frank Lampard’s team actually opened the new Championship season with a 2-1 success at Reading but have lost 4-1 to Leeds and 2-1 to Millwall in their last two. Lampard will be given time to make things work at Pride Park, but there will certainly be pressure on the former Chelsea captain to deliver three points here.

Ipswich are 5/1 as Paul Hurst’s team look to record all three points. The Tractor Boys are the underdogs for this match but as mentioned above in this Championship preview, they did win at Derby in the Championship last season. Ipswich opened their 2018-19 campaign with a 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers and have since lost to Rotherham United and drawn with Aston Villa. The Blues were inconsistent on their travels last term, however, winning eight yet losing 12 of their 23 on the road.

The draw is available at 13/5, which is certainly worth considering in the football predictions market. Ipswich have drawn two of their three league games already this season, while Derby will just be keen to put something on the board. That said, Ipswich only drew three times on the road in the Championship last season, while Derby shared the points on just five occasions in front of their own supporters.

Predicted Score: Derby County 1 - 0 Ipswich Town
