Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Kasey Palmer. The midfielder returns to Pride Park having spent the second half of last season on loan with the Rams. Having been dropped last weekend in favour of Bradley Dack, Palmer may be moved out onto the wing to accommodate his team-mate, and will come up against fellow Chelsea loanees Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount.

One to Watch: Mason Mount

The loanee has been Derby’s shining light so far this season, with two goals and an assist to his name already.

At just 19 years of age, the attacking midfielder has proved his credentials with the England under-23s as well this season, assisting fellow Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham’s strike before scoring himself.

Mount was uncharacteristically quiet in the defeat to Rotherham at the weekend, but will be more comfortable playing in front of a home crowd on Tuesday.

Frank Lampard will be without Tom Lawrence following the forward’s red card, adding to a growing list of sidelined first team players. Jayden Bogle is likely to start once again at right-back although Craig Forsyth may lose the other full-back slot to Scott Malone. Jack Mariot and Joe Ledley will also be in contention for starts, having missed out at the weekend.

Derby County vs Blackburn Rovers Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Martyn Waghorn is yet to truly impress since moving to Derby in the summer but could get another chance against Blackburn

Just two points separate Derby and Blackburn as they face off on Tuesday, with both sides suffering disappointments in their last game. The home side looked poor against Rotherham at the weekend, whilst Tony Mowbray’s team have yet to win in September.

Derby are 5/4 to win on Tuesday after their run of four consecutive wins was halted on Saturday. Lampard’s side sit in seventh place in the league table, although they risk being overtaken by their opponents on Tuesday if they lose.

Blackburn are 5/2 to win and, like Derby, have recently seen their unbeaten run come to an end. With just two league wins so far this season, Mowbray’s team will be glad to have star man Dack return, and will be hoping that the attacking midfielder can inspire the side to a win.

A draw is 12/5 and would seem a relatively fair result given the teams’ quality on paper and their recent form. Despite Derby’s status as favourites, the Rams have enjoyed success through counter-attacks, which they may struggle with against a physical and defensive Blackburn side.

Jack Marriott is 5/1 to score first, with the Derby man yet to score this season. With David Nugent still doubtful, and Martin Waghorn failing to impress, Mariot may be handed a start against Blackburn.

Bradley Dack is 7/1 to score first, and was free-scoring until his injury, with four goals from his opening four games. The attacking midfielder hit the ground running against Aston Villa this weekend, scoring his side’s only goal.

Predicted Score: Derby County 2 - 1 Blackburn Rovers
