      Derby County's Last Six:

        Won: 5 Drawn: 0 Lost: 1

This Championship preview begins with hosts Derby. The East Midlands-based outfit enjoyed a positive pre-season, with victories against Premier League sides Wolves and Southampton the standout performances.

Lampard is expected to go with the same XI that beat Reading in his first competitive match in charge, with goalscorers Mason Mount and Tom Lawrence working in tandem on the left side of midfield and attack.

        Leeds United's Last Six:

          Won: 3 Drawn: 2 Lost: 1

It has been another summer of upheaval at Leeds with Bielsa the latest in a long line of coaches to step in to the Elland Road hot seat. The maverick Chilean has been boosted by the £7m signing of Patrick Bamford, the biggest fee in the club’s history for over 15 years and a real show of intent from the board.

The Englishman has had his fair share of clubs and will be expected to hit the ground running alongside fellow forward Kemar Roofe. The former Chile boss has no serious injury concerns ahead of the trip to Pride Park.

Derby County vs Leeds United Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Derby welcome Leeds to Pride Park on Saturday, with Frank Lampard taking charge of his first home game

The Lampard era got off to the best possible start in the opening game of the season, and attention now shifts to one of the division’s other pacesetters. The Chelsea all-time top scorer will lock horns with one of the game’s most charismatic and innovative coaches in what is likely to be the biggest test of his fledging managerial career to date.

The Rams have talent in abundance, a squad with a plethora of internationals, but struggle for consistency over the course of a season. The former England midfielder has brought in goal machine Jack Marriott to an already strong squad and Derby are expected to be there or thereabouts in the race for a play-off berth.

Meanwhile, visitors Leeds stunned Championship favourites Stoke City in their first game of the season. Bielsa’s men were better in every department and laid down a real marker to the rest of the league.

Football predictions for this exciting duel reveal Derby at 10/11 to secure maximum points. The Rams took something from 17 of the 23 games played on home soil last term and the natives will expect something special in Lampard’s first home game on the sidelines.

Added Championship predictions show Leeds at 14/5 to chalk up another victory. The travelling party appear to have got to grips with Bielsa’s methods well, and while there is no guarantee for how long the unpredictable 63-year-old will remain at the club, the odds provided should be up for consideration.

A deadlock at the end of the 90 minutes is 13/5 in the latest football betting predictions market. Derby drew a whopping 15 contests last year, nearly a third of their 46-game haul, and were nearly left to rue the dropped points in the battle for a top six spot. A draw would keep both teams unbeaten but neither boss will be playing for this outcome after encouraging starts for both clubs.

One-time England man David Nugent is 4/1 favourite to open the scoring in this Championship preview. The 33-year-old should get the nod ahead of Marriott but needs a big performance to ultimately keep his place in the side alongside the new addition.

Roofe is 6/1 in the same market and is one of the main beneficiaries of the change in management. The ex-Oxford City striker didn’t score against the Potters, but was lauded by his supporters for a mature performance and already looks a more accomplished player under the guidance of his new manager.

Predicted Score: Derby County 1 - 2 Leeds United
