Betting Tips & Predictions

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard celebrates scoring a Champions League goal earlier in the season and needs a few more to his name.

Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions in eight games and will want to continue this form, with Champions League football on the horizon. Leicester have no such worries, although have suffered recently following a surge after the hiring of Claude Puel.

Chelsea are 1/4 to win on Saturday and have form, league standing and history in their favour, not having lost to Leicester at home in 18 years. The Blues are enjoying their football at the moment, despite striker Alvaro Morata’s difficulties in front of goal.

Leicester are 10/1 to win and may struggle on Saturday, especially if the transfer rumours surrounding Riyad Mahrez bare any weight. The Algerian has been carry Leicester over the past month, and without him they will be a shadow of the team that won the league just 18 months ago.

A draw is 5/1 which given Leicester’s draw at Manchester United may be a reasonable bet. The Foxes have a strong defence, but rely on tactics that doesn’t stretch them too far. Playing against the better teams in the league that control possession actually plays to Leicester’s advantage.

Eden Hazard is 10/11 to score anytime, with the Belgian having broken a dry spell from the spot against Arsenal last week. With Morata misfiring, and rumours of Michy Batshuayi leaving on loan, Chelsea’s number 10 carries a lot of responsibility at the moment.

Jamie Vardy is 11/4 to score, and will enjoy using his pace against Gary Cahill. Conte may be wise to play Antonio Rudiger, who has outsprinted Vardy so far this season.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

Morata’s form. The Spaniard missed a host of one v ones against both Arsenal and Stoke, and his confidence appears to have hit rock bottom. However, when the striker’s thinking time is limited, from crosses for example, he remains deadly and will still be the highest scoring player on the pitch this season in the league. He’s 8/15 to score anytime.

2

We fancy:

Chelsea to win and Hazard to score at 3/1. The only possible criticism of the Belgian could be the amount of goals he scores and if he’s ever to reach Lionel Messi’s level, getting on the score sheet more often is the way to go about it.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Alonso to score first at 8/1. The defender is lethal from free-kicks and his left foot has to rank among the most dangerous in the league. He’s also a threat at corners with a leaping ability to rival any striker.
