In a sentence: Both teams are coming into this fixture off the back of losses against teams from Manchester, so with both clubs fighting to climb up the table, this should be a huge game.

Last time: At Selhurst Park in October, Palace came away with all three points after beating a Chelsea side who were already faltering in their title defence.

This time: Chelsea are 3/10 to win, a draw is 4/1 and a Palace victory is 10/1.

You might remember: In the 2-1 Palace victory earlier in the season, the first goal of the game for Palace was their first goal of the entire 2017/18 Premier League season, coming in their eighth fixture.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Eden Hazard was completely isolated in Chelsea’s defeat against Manchester City on Sunday, so we can expect to play in a deeper role against Crystal Palace this weekend

At any other time, Chelsea would be 100% expected to win this game hands down against a Crystal Palace team who are struggling for wins and desperate for points. But this game is different. The Blues are in poor form and need a win to keep up with Tottenham and the rest of the top four, and are going up against a Palace side who will sit deep and frustrate the champions. With that in mind, a 1-1 draw could be a possibility at 10/1.

Chelsea at home however are much better than on the road, and a 2-0 win could be just as likely as a 1-1 scoreline, and that is priced at 11/2. Conte must surely have learnt from the City loss and realise that Eden Hazard up top on his own isn’t always the way forward, so Alvaro Morata is priced at 3/1 to score first in this clash.

As for Palace, you have to imagine that their chances on goal will be fairly limited. With penalty-taker Luka Milivojevic one of the safest bets in the Premier League from the spot, he is 6/1 to score anytime and 20/1 to score first. Or Andros Townsend, who scored against Manchester United on Monday night, is 16/1 to replicate that goal and score first in west London.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

Olivier Giroud. This game may be suited to the Frenchman, and he is priced at 17/20 to score at any time.

2

We fancy:

A 3-0 Chelsea win with a free kick from Marcos Alonso at any time, which has odds of 20/1.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Maybe a Palace win could be on the cards with Conte’s reign crumbling, but a 4-0 victory for the Eagles is at 200/1, which tells you all you need to know about the likeliness of that result.
