Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: Barcelona head to Celta Vigo on Tuesday night, with the Catalan side three wins away from the title – read our La Liga preview to see if they can take a step closer.

Last time: Barcelona drew 2-2 with Celta at the Nou Camp earlier this season, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez on target.

This time: Ernesto Valverde’s team are favourites to win this tie as part of our La Liga predictions, with an away victory at 7/10. Celta are 15/4 to win and a draw is 3/1.

You might remember: There will be a familiar face in the opposition dugout for the Barcelona players, as current Celta boss Juan Carlos Unzue was their assistant manager under Luis Enrique.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Lionel Messi is Barcelona’s top scorer once again this season, and he’ll look for more as his team travel to Celta Vigo on Tuesday

Barcelona will have the league title wrapped up with three more league wins, and they should take a big step on the road towards regaining their title from Real Madrid with a win here.

Celta still have an outside chance of securing a Europa League qualifying spot, but Barcelona look in determined mood under Valverde. An away win, at 7/10, looks to be a strong option for your football bet tips and predictions list.

Unzue’s side have won three of their last four games on home soil, however against Barcelona that is unlikely to help them, as the Catalan side look to get the title sorted and potentially rest players ahead of the World Cup.

Football predictions are never easy, but given the fact that Barcelona have only failed to score in just one La Liga game this season, it is fair to say there should be goals in this  encounter.

Celta have also scored eight goals in their last four home matches, and an over 2.5 total goals bet comes in at 8/15. A Barcelona win and over 2.5 total goals is priced at 5/4.

Predicted Score: Celta de Vigo 1 - 3 FC Barcelona

Match Summary

Look out for:

Lionel Messi is leading the Barcelona charge to the La Liga title, and he is their leading scorer for 2017/18 with 29 league goals so far.

He enjoys playing against Celta Vigo, scoring four in his last four games against them, ahead of this midweek clash.

It might not be the most unusual of La Liga predictions, but Messi to score first is at 5/2.

We fancy:

Celta have a good recent record against Barcelona, compared to other mid-table sides, and they will cause Barcelona problems at their own stadium.

The home side should score, but Barcelona should have too much firepower on display to distract them from winning.

At 11/1, a 3-1 Barcelona win looks tempting as far as football score predictions go.

It’s a long shot, but:

Celta will not lie down for Barcelona’s title parade, and they have proven themselves to be tricky opponents for a number of the big boys this season.

Former Liverpool man Iago Apsas is the key player for them, with 19 goals in La Liga this season, and he has three goals in his last two La Liga appearances against Barcelona.

He is at 5/4 to  score anytime, and at 13/2 to score twice or more.
