06/03/2018 Kick Off:  7:45 pm Pirelli Stadium V Predicted Score:1 - 2

Away Brentford

Match Summary

1 Look out for:

History. Burton have never beaten Brentford, with the teams only competing in the same division as each other last season. The Bees won both of the meetings last term, while the Brewers are looking to go one better than the draw they got in November. The hosts are 15/2 to win to nil.

2 We fancy:

Brentford to win and both teams to score at 3/1. The visitors have conceded 41 goals in their 34 games so far this season, so it’s likely the Brewers will get some chances. If you think they’ll take one but the Bees will still win, you can get odds of 8/1 on a 2-1 scoreline.

3 It's a long shot, but…

Burton to win to nil with over 4.5 corners for each team at 20/1. Only Sunderland have conceded more goals in the Championship this season than the Brewers, but if they put in a strong defensive performance and goalkeeper Stephen Bywater has a good game then this bet could come into play.

Team News

Burton Albion's Last Six:

Won: 1 Drawn: 2 Lost: 3

Brewers manager Nigel Clough comes into this game will a clean bill of health, while his players had a weekend off and should be well rested since their last match. Veteran midfielder Lloyd Dyer is still Burton’s top scorer and he’s expected to start his 24th game of the season.

Brentford's Last Six:

Won: 2 Drawn: 1 Lost: 3

Visiting boss Dean Smith also has no new injury worries to concern him, plus the extra rest coming into Tuesday’s encounter. Forwards Jozefzoon, Ollie Watkins and Neal Maupay all got on the scoresheet in the recent 5-0 demolition of Birmingham, and they should all start in this one.

Burton Albion vs Brentford Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Burton Albion come into this game at the Pirelli Stadium looking to beat visiting Brentford for the first time

Home side Burton need to start brewing up some positive results if they want to avoid the drop to League One, while a win for Brentford could haul them back to within four points of the play-offs – with a game in hand to boot.

Burton are 18/5 to claim a huge three points in their quest for survival. The Brewers are currently three points from safety, although there is a clutch a sides within their grasp. 18th placed Reading are just five points ahead of Clough’s side, who are looking for their first win at the Pirelli Stadium for 13 games, a run that stretches back to mid-September.

Brentford are 9/10 favourites, as they look to get back on track after falling to defeat against Leeds at Elland Road last time out. The Bees had won three of their previous five games on the road, and the visitors know that this is a must-win if they want to stand any chance of mounting an unlikely charge for the play-offs.

The draw is 3/1, which would be the second stalemate of the season between these two. The previous meeting ended 1-1, and at 13/2, the bookmakers are predicting that to be the most likely scoreline alongside a 1-0 Brentford win.

Maupay is the 4/1 favourite to open the scoring, while strike partners Watkins and Jozefzoon are priced at 13/2 and 7/1 respectively to break the deadlock for the Bees. Darren Bent is yet to hit the back of the net for Burton, and he’s 7/1 to break his duck with the first goal of the game.

Predicted Score: Burton Albion 1 - 2 Brentford
