Brentford vs QPR Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: Brentford host Queens Park Rangers at Griffin Park on Saturday, with the Bees desperate for a victory to keep their slim promotion chances alive.

Last time: When Lasse Vibe scored his second goal with less than 10 minutes left, he thought he’d handed the Bees the points at Loftus Road in November. However, Matt Smith and Luke Freeman struck in injury time to rescue a point for the Hoops, going against all football predictions with little time left on the clock.

This time: Brentford are 7/10 and start this Championship preview as favourites, with QPR at 5/1 and the draw priced at 17/5.

You might remember: Brentford dumped QPR out of the League Cup at Loftus Road back in August. After smashing the Rs 4-1, a repeat of that result could feature as part of your football score predictions for this game.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Brentford host QPR at Griffin Park on Saturday, with the Bees still in with an outside chance of a playoff spot.

Brentford come into this game still with an outside chance of making the play-offs. This game’s a must-win if they want to keep the pressure on the teams above them, and mid-table Queens Park Rangers could be the perfect opponents on Saturday. The Hoops have little left to play for this season, aside from a top-half finish, and they won’t feature in too many Championship predictions this weekend.

Brentford are 7/10 as they look to close the four-point gap to Middlesbrough and Millwall who currently lie fifth and sixth. Unbeaten in their last four against QPR, it should’ve been four straight wins, but for that late comeback in the first league meeting of the season between the teams. The Bees salvaged a credible draw at in-form Fulham in the 94th minute on Saturday and won all three of their games prior to that 1-0.

The Rs are 5/1 and it’d be a brave football prediction to add them to your betslip for Saturday’s encounter. Rangers haven’t beaten Brentford away in 15 years almost to the day, although there have only been three further meetings at Griffin Park since that meeting in League One. Ian Holloway’s side are hugely inconsistent, but as they’ve lurched from good result to bad over recent months, they could upset a few football predictions this weekend.

The draw is 17/5 and would do nothing for either side, except condemn Brentford to another season in the Championship. There’s been a winner in five of the last six games between the sides, but if you fancy a repeat of the 2-2 scoreline from the most recent fixture, that’s priced at 14/1 in your football betting tips for the weekend.

Neal Maupay is the 57/17 favourite to break the deadlock in this one, as he looks to add to his 12 Championship goals so far this season. Ollie Watkins is into double figures for the Bees, and he’s 6/1 to open the scoring. For the visitors, top scorer Matt Smith could be tempting at 9/1 for the same bet.

Predicted Score: Brentford 3 - 1 Queens Park Rangers

Match Summary

Look out for:

The Bees to sting. After 180 minutes of action between the sides this season, Brentford had outscored QPR by six goals to one. That injury-time comeback to one side, the home team are 3/1 to win with over 3.5 goals in the game. Alternatively, bet on the hosts to make it four 1-0 wins in five at odds of 9/1.

We fancy:

Brentford to win and both teams to score at 21/10. QPR have managed 54 goals so far this term, and there’s every chance they’ll score with no pressure on this game. The promotion-chasing Bees should have too much, though.

It's a long shot, but:

Brentford are 22/1 to record another 4-1 victory over QPR. On the other hand, the Hoops are 17/1 to match the 2-1 win they recorded at Griffin Park 15 years ago. The odds increase to 50/1 with Smith as the first scorer, which would be one of the best football betting tips of the season if it pays out.
