Match Summary

3 It's a long shot, but…

Brentford recorded a 5-0 win over Birmingham when the two teams met in the corresponding match last season. The same scoreline on this occasion can be backed at 75/1 with Paddy Power, which should be considered as part of our football score predictions.

One to Watch: Neal Maupay

No player has scored more Championship goals than Brentford’s Neal Maupay this term, with the forward managing nine in eight appearances.

The 22-year-old netted 12 Championship goals during the 2017-18 campaign, but is well on his way to bettering that total this season, and there are bound to be Premier League clubs closely monitoring his performances in the second tier.

Brentford are actually without a win in their last four matches in all competitions, but Maupay’s form is still red-hot, and the Frenchman will fancy his chances of continuing his scoring run against Birmingham City.

Maupay is 10/3 in the first goalscorer market with bet365, which is one of our Championship predictions for the mid-week matches.

Brentford boss Dean Smith has no fresh injury concerns from the team that drew 2-2 with Reading on Saturday afternoon.

However, the home side will be without the services of Mohamed Benrahma following the 23-year-old’s late red card against the Royals.

Lukas Jutkiewicz scored twice in Birmingham City’s 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town in the Championship on Saturday, and he will again be partnered by Che Adams in attack.

Craig Gardner should also keep his position in the middle of the park, while Connor Mahoney will be pushing for a spot in the XI.

Brentford vs Birmingham City Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Will playing at home help Brentford stop the rot?

Sixth-placed Brentford will host 16th-placed Birmingham City in the Championship on Tuesday night. Brentford have collected 16 points from 10 matches this season to sit in sixth position in the table, and are actually only four points off division leaders West Bromwich Albion. Birmingham, meanwhile, have taken 10 points from their 10 matches to sit down in 16th spot. Incredibly, the Blues have drawn seven times in the Championship this term, suffering just two defeats, which is the same as Brentford.

Brentford are 3/5 as part of the best football betting tips. As mentioned above in this Championship preview, Dean Smith’s side sit sixth in the table having collected 16 points from their 10 fixtures thus far. It has been a positive start to the 2018-19 campaign, but Brentford are actually without a win in their last four matches in all competitions. Indeed, they have not been victorious in the Championship since September 15 – losing to Derby County, and drawing with Ipswich Town and Reading in their last three matches in the second tier of English football.

Birmingham are 5/1 to pick up all three points on Tuesday night. Garry Monk’s side have been the draw specialists in the Championship this season, having shared the points in seven of their 10 matches. The Blues have only actually lost twice, and are unbeaten in their last six Championship games. They beat Leeds United in their last away match on September 22, but were held to a 2-2 draw by Ipswich Town at the weekend.

The draw is at 13/5, and as mentioned above in this Championship preview, that has certainly been a result favoured by Birmingham this season. Brentford have also drawn two of their last three Championship matches, although each of the last seven meetings between Brentford and Birmingham has produced a winner. Indeed, these two teams have not shared the points since their first Championship match back in August 2014, which is worth considering in the football predictions market.

Predicted Score: Brentford 2 - 0 Birmingham City
