In a sentence: Bournemouth and West Ham United will lock horns for just the 10th time in their respective histories at the Vitality Stadium on Boxing Day.

Last time: Bournemouth recorded a 3-2 win when they welcomed West Ham in the Premier League last season. It was 2-2 until the 90th minute, when Josh King completed his hat-trick to secure all three points for the home side in dramatic fashion.

This time: Bournemouth are 11/8 to win with West Ham available at 2/1 and the draw at 12/5.

You might remember: Bournemouth came out on top in a seven-goal thriller between the two teams in their first ever Premier League meeting in August 2015.

Michail Antonio, West Ham United

Bournemouth will look to win just their third home Premier League game of the season when they welcome West Ham on Boxing Day. The Cherries have only scored nine home league goals this season, and they will come up against a Hammers side that won their first away league game of the 2017-18 campaign on December 16 – a 3-0 success at Stoke City.

Bournemouth are 11/8 to win on Boxing Day as they look to overcome what has been a rotten run of form in recent weeks. Howe’s side finished in the top half of the Premier League last season, but they are struggling in the latter stages of 2017. Liverpool put four goals past them in their last home game on December 17.

West Ham are 2/1 as they look to make it back-to-back away wins in the Premier League following a very impressive 3-0 win at Stoke in their last league game on the road. The Hammers still have one of the worst away records in the division, but have certainly made progress since Moyes took charge at the London Stadium.

The draw is 12/5, and in truth, both managers would probably take that result ahead of kickoff. Bournemouth have lost three of their last five home Premier League matches, while West Ham had a poor away record before beating Stoke. That said, these two teams have never shared the points in a Premier League match.

Callum Wilson is 9/2 in the first goalscorer market, and the striker could lead the line for Bournemouth in the absence of Defoe. He is 10/1, meanwhile, to score two or more goals against the Hammers.

Michail Antonio is 7/1 in the first goalscorer market. The West Ham attacker is certainly capable of causing the Bournemouth back four problems at the Vitality Stadium. He can also be backed at 14/1 to find the back of the net two or more times against the Cherries.

Match Summary

Look out for:

The two or more goals market is full of good value. Marko Arnautovic can be backed at 16/1 to net at least twice against Bournemouth, while Defoe is available at 10/1. Charlie Daniels likes the odd goal for Bournemouth, and the full-back is 175/1 to score two or more against the Hammers.

We fancy:

West Ham to win 1-0 can be backed at 17/2. The Hammers have been much better defensively in recent weeks, and Bournemouth have struggled to find the back of the net on home soil in the Premier League this season

It’s a long shot, but:

Correct score of 3-0 West Ham is available at 40/1. Moyes’ side beat Stoke 3-0 in their last away game in the Premier League, and the Hammers have a number of attacking players that could cause an unsettled Bournemouth defence problems at the Vitality Stadium.
