In a sentence: Bournemouth come into this game on the back of their stunning victory at Chelsea in midweek, and will fancy their chances against Stoke.

Last time: The Cherries raced into an early two goal lead at the Bet365 earlier this season, thanks to strikes from Andrew Surman and Junior Stanislas. Mame Biram Diouf pulled one back for the Potters in the second half, but the game ended 2-1 to the visitors.

This time: Bournemouth are priced at evens for the win, while Stoke are 7/2 and the draw is 13/5.

You might remember: Diouf having a more decisive impact a couple of years ago, when he scored a late winner to seal a 2-1 win for Stoke in September 2015.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Callum Wilson is in great form for Bournemouth at the moment

After sticking with their manager through some difficult times earlier in the season, Bournemouth are starting to reap the rewards of keeping the faith. Stoke on the other hand wielded the axe on Mark Hughes, but the Potters are still in lots of trouble.

Bournemouth are evens for the victory, which would cap a superb week’s work for the south coast club. They took a point from the London Stadium when they played West Ham last Saturday, before that breathtaking result at Stamford Bridge. Having also beaten Arsenal and Everton at home in January, Howe’s side are in superb form and have risen to 10th in the table.

Stoke meanwhile are 7/2 for this game, and currently lie just a point above the relegation zone. They played out an underwhelming goalless draw at home to Watford in midweek, which was the fourth time they’ve failed to score in their last five Premier League games. They’re desperate for goals, so Potters fans will be dismayed that the January transfer window came and went without strengthening up front.

The draw is 13/5, and perhaps Stoke’s best chance of getting something from this game. A second 0-0 scoreline in a matter of days is priced at 12/1, while the bookmakers are somewhat surprisingly predicting a 1-1 draw as the most likely result from this encounter at 13/2.

Callum Wilson put Bournemouth into the lead against Chelsea on Wednesday, and the striker is the 5/1 favourite to break the deadlock in this one. His return to fitness after a succession of injuries has been a massive boost for the Cherries, and he now has eight Premier League goals for the season. He’s 7/1 to score the two or more goals than will take him into double figures.

Despite his advanced years, Peter Crouch is the bookmakers’ favourite to open the scoring for Stoke. The former England international is priced at 15/2 to grab the first goal of the game, and if you think that’ll be the only goal scored, the odds increase to 50/1.

Match Summary

1

Look out for:

The Bournemouth attack. Even with Jermain Defoe on the sidelines, the Cherries have got the firepower to climb away from the relegation dogfight once and for all. They’re 29/1 to follow up their display at Stamford Bridge by scoring three or more goals once again.

2

We fancy:

Bournemouth to win to nil at 14/5. With the Potters on such a dismal goalscoring run, this looks like a decent way to improve your odds on the home win. A 2-0 win for Howe’s side is priced at 19/2.

3

It’s a long shot, but:

Stoke to win 1-0 is 12/1. It’d be an impressive feat for the visitors to take all three points from the vitality considering Bournemouth’s recent form. The Potters average exactly a goal a game this season, and they’re likely to need a clean sheet to claim all three points.
