Match Summary

1 Look out for:

Both teams to score is at 8/13 which may not seem to bad, but as most Premier League previews will point out that Southampton often struggle to score a lot of goals.

3 It's a long shot, but…

Southampton are known for being a bit lacking in the scoring department, so Shane Long to score first in a Bournemouth 3-1 win is at 120/1 on Betfair, with £10 returning £1,210.

One to Watch: David Brooks

IF there is one thing you could say about Eddie Howe and Bournemouth it’s that they can make any young player much better. Look at Nathan Ake and Lewis Cook as examples but this season it appears that Welshman is the next in line for that Howe improvement. After a few goals against Watford and Crystal Palace, Brooks will be on the form of his life and is priced at 8/1 to score first with Betfair and for Brooks to score first in a 3-0 Cherries win is at 65/1 with Betfair with £10 returning £660 including stake.

With only a handful of players away for international week, Bournemouth are likely to be without any injury concerns and have no suspension worries.

The same goes for Southampton who are at full strength coming back off the international break, but Mark Hughes may look to chop and change given his sides poor run of form.

Bournemouth vs Southampton Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Will Mark Hughes get some much-needed derby respite?

One of three south coast derbies in the Premier League this season, Bournemouth take on Southampton in a game that a few years ago would have been a banker away win, but the way that Eddie Howe and Bournemouth have grown over the years is superb and very impressive. With Betfair, a home win is 11/10, with a draw at 5/2 and a Southampton win at 13/5 which goes to show how the bookies view this game which mayn’t be as close as perhaps it should be on paper.

With Josh King, Calum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and David Brooks on fire at the moment, the Cherries have the momentum and the players who are coming into this one on form with the confidence to put them into any game as possible favourites. The Saints, on the other hand, are the opposite. They haven’t won in the league since match day four against Crystal Palace and are struggling to score goals with Manolo Gabbiadini, Shane Long and Charlie Austin all failing to find the target, but could this weekend be the start of something different for Mark Hughes and his men?

Predicted Score: Bournemouth 3 - 1 Southampton
