Blackburn and Villa have both drawn three out of their six league games so far and they could add to that at Ewood Park. Part of our football betting tips for the weekend is the draw and both teams to score at 16/5 with Paddy Power.

One to Watch: Charlie Mulgrew

Perhaps not the name you were expecting to see as one to watch in this Championship preview, but the experienced defender has been instrumental for his side in recent weeks.

The 32-year-old has three goals in his last two games and while it is fair to say he isn’t going to be scoring goals at that rate all season, why not one more here? Take a gamble with this week’s football predictions and back the Scotland international to score anytime at 9/2 with BetBright.

Rovers have a few injury concerns ahead of this weekend’s game. Bradley Dack, Ben Gladwin, Jacob Davenport and Derrick Williams could all miss out. Tony Mowbray is unlikely to make many unforced changes to his starting XI despite a heavy defeat last time out.

Steve Bruce has been monitoring the fitness of John McGinn, Jack Grealish, Albert Adomah and Jonathan Kodjia recently, and he will be hoping to have a couple of those names available this week. Keinan Davis is out but Scott Hogan and Yannick Bolasie should make the squad.

Blackburn Rovers vs Aston Villa Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Blackburn Rovers host Aston Villa at Ewood Park this weekend

Two wins, three draws and one defeat – both teams have identical records as they prepare to face off this week.

Blackburn have been in good form recently, but a 4-1 defeat at Bristol City in their last game would have come as a shock to the system. Unbeaten at home so far, Rovers have proven they have what to takes to compete in the Championship following promotion from League One. Tony Mowbray will want a positive performance and result following the previous defeat. The home team welcome an inconsistent Villa side that have struggled in recent weeks, and Rovers have more than a chance of claiming victory at 13/8.

Which Aston Villa will turn up this week? Championship predictions involving the Villans are always difficult for that reason. They are five without a win in all competitions, despite starting the season by winning their first three. Steve Bruce needs a response following a heavy away defeat at the hands of Sheffield United a couple of weeks back, and the mood around the club requires lifting. A welcome win would push them back towards the top end of the table, and the away side are 8/5 for the points.

Given both teams’ form this season, the draw looks a safe football prediction here, and the stalemate is priced at 23/10. Favourites to open the scoring are Danny Graham at 6/1, with Jonathan Kodjia and Tammy Abraham both at 11/2.

Predicted Score: Blackburn Rovers 2 - 2 Aston Villa
