    31/03/2018 Kick Off:  3:00 pm St Andrew's V Predicted Score:1 - 0

    Away Ipswich Town

      Match Summary

      1 Look out for:

At least one side drawing a blank. Football predictions are aided by a little research, and since the start of last season, Derby County are the only Championship side to play fewer games where both teams scored than these sides have. A ‘no’ bet in your both teams to score predictions is available at 3/4.

      2 We fancy:

Under 2.5 goals, at 8/15. Birmingham have featured in just 12 Championship matches with at least three goals this season, which is the fewest in the division. Ipswich have only had over 2.5 goals 16 times too.

      3 It's a long shot, but…

Ipswich to win 2-0, at 20/1. Football score predictions are always hard to get right, but Ipswich have won three of their last five away league matches, and scored twice in two of those victories.

      Team News

      Birmingham City's Last Six:

        Won: 1 Drawn: 0 Lost: 5

Isaac Vassell is still sidelined with a knee injury. Jonathan Grounds missed the win over Hull, but may be back for this match.

        Ipswich Town's Last Six:

          Won: 2 Drawn: 1 Lost: 3

Ipswich have a lot of injury problems at present. Emyr Huws, Joe Garner, David McGoldrick and Teddy Bishop are among the players in Mick McCarthy’s treatment room.

Birmingham City vs Ipswich Town Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

Birmingham City are still in the relegation zone and could be in for a tough game against Ipswich Town

This is a Championship preview where the result is very tough to call. Ipswich Town have been the better team overall in 2017/18, but don’t have much to play for. Birmingham City are in the relegation zone, but did pick up their first win under new manager Garry Monk last time out. It could be tricky to pick out your selections, but here are some football betting tips for the weekend.

Birmingham City are 10/9 to win, and seven of their nine Championship wins this season have been in front of their own fans. They have won two of their last five league games at St Andrew’s, so will hope to make it three from six here.

Ipswich Town can be backed at 3/1 in your football predictions to head home with the three points. They did lose at Bristol City last time out, but were unbeaten in their five away matches prior to that, so overall their form on the road is pretty good.

The draw is priced at 9/4. However, the form book doesn’t make it look like a likely outcome. Birmingham have drawn six Championship matches in 2017/18, which is the joint-fewest in the division, and Ipswich have only tied seven. There should be a decisive result in this match one way or the other.

Sam Gallagher is the 5/1 favourite to open the scoring, or 2/1 to add his name to the scoresheet at some point. Gallagher is City’s top scorer with six league goals this season, and has two goals in his last 10 appearances.

Martyn Waghorn is 18/5 to bag a goal, or 9/1 for it to be the opener. He is the top scorer on either side with 12 Championship goals in 2017/18, and scored twice in Ipswich’s last away win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Championship predictions are never straightforward, but this will probably be a low-scoring affair.

Predicted Score: Birmingham City 1 - 0 Ipswich Town
