In a sentence: Barcelona get a chance to bounce back after their shock Champions League defeat to Roma against fellow La Liga top four side Valencia as Spain’s standout fixture of the weekend kick-offs.

Last time: Valencia’s last league visit to the Camp Nou was a thoroughly entertaining affair. The home side ran out 4-2 winners after Eliaquim Mangala saw red in the 44th minute for the visitors with Lionel Messi scoring the resulting penalty to send Barca on their way to victory in a March 2017 league game.

This time: Barcelona are 3/10 with Valencia at 15/2 and the draw 19/4.

You might remember: It may have been the Copa Del Rey, but during the first leg in February 2016, Barce booked their place in the next round after hammering the Valencianistes 7-0. Luis Suarez netted four that day and although the home side are a wounded animal this time, our La Liga preview warns Valencia to proceed with caution once again.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Barcelona might need more Lionel Messi magic to shake off Valencia

The pressure is firmly on Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde after seeing his side capitulate against Roma in the Champions League. How his side responds against an impressive Valencia side vying for the runners-up spot in La Liga this season will be the highlight of the weekend. Today’s football prediction is for a high-pressure game in which the visitors will fancy causing another upset. It will be a game you will not want to miss.

Barcelona are 3/10 to win the match and although a few may fancy putting it in their accumulators, one of our La Liga predictions is to stay away from that. The price is too short considering Valencia have not lost a game since they last played Barca in the Copa Del Rey at the beginning of Feb.

Valencia are 15/2 to win and that price makes them worth at least a small punt. Head coach Marcelino García Toral has guided his side to five straight league wins and although Barce’s quality is undeniable, if there is a team that can beat them, it is Valencia just like they did at the Camp Nou in 2016.

The draw is 19/4 and that is where the match result betting value lies making it one of our best football betting tips. The pair have drawn two of their last seven meetings and although that may not sound a lot, taking into consideration Barce’s current vulnerability and short price on the home win, that could prove to be one of the choice football predictions for this game.

Under 2.5 goals in the game is 15/8 and although many may think when these two collide goals are assured, the fact is, that the opposite occurs. The last three meetings between the two has not yielded more than two goals per game making that value one of the best football score predictions for this game.

Both teams to score is 7/10 and that is one of the best football betting tips for the weekend. Valencia have not failed to score in a game since the 8th February whilst Barca have not failed to score at home since 11th Feb.

Match Summary

Look out for:

Valencia to score first. We have already highlighted how much pressure Barcelona are under despite having all but wrapped up the title. Valencia have also scored first in two of the last four meetings between the two.

Valencia to score first is 3/1 and at that price is one of the best football betting tips for the weekend.

We fancy:

The draw and both teams to score is 11/2 and offers arguably the best match result value in the game. The last five draws between the two have been by a 1-1 score line and our La Liga predictions call for that to continue to a sixth.

It’s a long shot, but:

Valencia to win 3-0 is 100/1. Roma have just done although on Italian soil and although unlikely, lightening could strike twice in less than a week for Barcelona.
