    15/02/2018 Kick Off:  4:00 pm Astana Arena V Predicted Score:0 - 2

    Away Sporting Lisbon

      Match Summary

      1 Look out for:

Under 2.5 goals, at 8/11. Four of FC Astana’s last five matches have seen fewer than three goals, and Sporting have played seven games since it last happened to them. The visitors may also be happy to keep this match tight and get the tie won in the second leg

      2 We fancy:

Sporting Lisbon to win to nil, at 12/5. The Portuguese side have far more European experience, and they have kept a clean sheet in each of their last five league wins.

      3 It's a long shot, but…

Bas Dost to score a hat-trick, at 45/1. The Dutch striker scored back-to-back league hat-tricks in January, and will fancy his chances of doing so again here.

FC Astana vs Sporting Lisbon Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

FC Astana won 15 of their 17 home matches in 2017 and won’t roll over for Sporting in front of their own fans

FC Astana are currently 67th in UEFA’s European club rankings. That makes them comfortably the highest ranked Kazakh side, but still some way adrift of Sporting Lisbon, who are in 44th. The home side will hope that the 12,000km round trip unsettles the Portuguese giants.

FC Astana are 41/13 to win the match. Their 2018 league season does not begin until March, but they won 15 of their 17 home matches last year. They also picked up a win against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the group stage, but their visitors on Thursday should provide a sterner test.

Sporting Lisbon can be backed at 11/10 to head back to Portugal with a win. They have lost just one away match in the league this season, though it was in their last game on the road. They have dropped down to the Europa League from the Champions League, and they did pick up a win at Olympiakos in September.

The draw is available at 12/5. Neither side is too accustomed to drawing matches in their domestic leagues, but Sporting would probably take a draw from a long trip and hope to get the job done in Lisbon next week.

Patrick Twumasi is 8/1 to score the opening goal, or 29/10 to add his name to the score sheet at some point. The Ghanaian was Astana’s top scorer in the group stage, with four goals in total and three at home.

Bas Dost is 7/4 to net during the match, or 9/2 to break the deadlock with the first goal. He has 19 league goals this season, and is the second top scorer in Liga NOS. He also bagged two in the Champions League, and is the man Astana need to be most wary of.

Predicted Score: FC Astana 0 - 2 Sporting Lisbon
