Aberdeen vs Dundee Betting Tips, Preview & Predictions

In a sentence: Third from the top face third from the drop as Aberdeen meet Dundee this weekend.

Last time: Aberdeen beat Dundee for the eighth consecutive time back in December. Despite the majority of football score predictions forecasting a heavy win, it took just one goal from Scott McKenna to secure the Dons a narrow victory.

This time: Scottish Prermiership previews have Aberdeen at are 8/15 to win, Dundee at 13/2 and a draw at 3/1.

You might remember: A 7-0 thrashing of Dundee last season with Andrew Considine scoring a hat-trick, and Adam Rooney, Kevin McLean, Ryan Jack and Niall McGinn all getting on the scoresheet.

Betting Tips & Predictions

Aberdeen’s only home defeat since December came against Celtic

Dundee’s defeat to St Johnstone was their fourth consecutive home reverse, and they will be glad to play away, despite the weekend football predictions being far from in their favour. Aberdeen have gone four games without a win themselves in the league, but should be able to overcome Neil McCann’ struggling side.

Aberdeen are 8/15 to win and need to pick up their league form if they want to protect third place from the encroaching Hibernaian. Derek McInnes has a strong squad at his disposal and will hope that the penalty shootout win in the Scottish Cup will have given his side a confidence boost. The football bet tips and predictions seem to think so.

Dundee are 13/2 to win and three points would be invaluable for the side at this point in the season. A number of news outlets have recently chosen Dundee as relegation contenders in the Scottish Premiership predictions, and a win would be vital to help keep the players’ heads up.

A draw is 3/1, a result that hasn’t happened in three years. However, given that Dundee will defend deep and Aberdeen have drawn their last two league games, it is far from the worst of football predictions.

Adam Rooney is 21/10 to score anytime for Aberdeen, as the side’s leading goalscorer. Currently undergoing a bit of a dry spell, the forward is overdue a goal and will enjoy playing against the league’s third worst defence.

A-Jay Leitch-Smith at 14/5 is considered Dundee’s best hope for scoring according to the football betting tips for the weekend. The forward has just six goals this season, although as Dee’s second top scorer is Mark O’Hara, a defender, he is highly relied upon.

Predicted Score: Aberdeen 1 - 0 Dundee

Match Summary

Goals from the back. Defenders have scored more than a quarter of the two sides’ goals, with 21 between them. Set pieces will clearly have a big impact in the football betting tips for the weekend.

Scott McKenna scored in his last game against Dundee and is 9/1 to do so again.

Aberdeen to score 2 or more goals at 8/15. The Dons need to start winning again and Dundee offer a relatively easy opponent to do so against.

Simon Murray to score first at 9/1. The January signing has two goals from five games, and may offer a different option up front for Dundee.
