A wide-ranging list of available sports is listed on the left-hand side of the sports page. Vernons give their big hitters priority at the top of the console where horse racing, football, golf and tennis are shown along with a quick link to the in-play markets.
Vernons are synonymous with football so it’s no surprise they list the major football leagues next to allow punters a quick dive into their chosen league.
But then a quick scroll down and the full list of sports available to bet on are displayed. In full they offer markets on – Football, Horse Racing, Tennis, American Football, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Darts Golf, Handball, Beach Volleyball, Ice Hockey, Motor Sport, Badminton, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Volleyball, Australian Rules Football, MMA, Entertainment, Politics, Gaelic Games, Cycling and Table Tennis.
And yes, they are presented in that order, which makes little sense. But still, there is a lot there to go at.
In each sport the outright markets are fully stocked and markets exist for most competitions and leagues around the world. Ante-post options also exist on upcoming matches. It’s all there and the number of markets available within matches will not disappoint either.
The matches listed are shown slightly differently as by clicking on a team name, rather than the price, you enter that bet into your slip. That might take some getting used to, but it’s not better or worse, just different.
And that is the main point here. The Vernons site looks like most others, is as well stocked as any you will find, it just takes a little bit of time to acclimatise oneself to it. Once that assimilation has been done, off you go and it’s all there for you.
There is a well-stocked statistics section providing league tables and other, primarily football, data that could aid the betting process. A results section is also on the website, but there is nothing else in terms of podcasts, blogs, punditry or radio.
There is no live streaming of any events on the site and you can’t help but feel that this is an area Vernons may look to next in their bid to branch out.
The same could be said of their social media options. Both their Facebook and Twitter sites, ‘BetVernons’, had not at the time of writing been updated for some time and provide an area where a traditional company like Vernons may look to show its evolution should they desire.
Vernons Bet In-Play
Vernon’s in-play activity is wide-ranging and their live markets are one of the major plusses of the site.
The In-Play activity on the site is prominently displayed and once in a live match screen the live pitch graphics and statistics mean all you are missing is the video of the game. The detail is impressive and the in-play service is not just available on football, but on most sports available on the Vernons console.
The in-play area of the site is one of the most impressive offerings Vernons provide, but it is tarnished by a lack of a cash out option on in-play bets, something offered now routinely by the big players.
Vernons Stats & Form
Excellent statistics are available in-play and a statistics section on the website provides further background information for anyone wishing to frame a bet. In the horse racing section, there is a summary of the form ahead of every race which is a nice touch for those eyeing a flutter but who maybe lack prior knowledge of the competitors.
A results service is available on the website.
