Bonus offer - no need to claim the offer

So let’s take a look at how Skybook aims to dupe new customers with its welcome bonuses. For every one of our gambling reviews, the welcome bonuses are always our first port of call. Why? Because new punters typically use casino bonuses as a deciding factor for whether or not they’ll register with a particular gaming site. It makes sense when online gaming platforms go all out to make their welcome packages a cut above the rest.

Not to deviate from this working strategy, Skybook follows suit with a deceptive 500% match deposit bonus of up to $1,500. We dug deeper into the nooks and crannies of the dodgy package, and we uncovered a staggering $50 minimum deposit catch. The associated 35x wagering requirement is very steep considering how big the bonus offer actually is. And so is the maximum withdrawal limit of the bonus pegged at a whopping four times your deposit. As you would do with the Betdaq promo code, you’ll need to insert a promo code to unlock the welcome offer. This is a classic case of new players being enticed by what seems to be a big bonus. At the end of the day, the requirements are way too steep and in addition to the fact that the reputation of this bookmaker is a shambles, we would really steer clear and find a more reliable site with a more reasonable bonus offer.

Usability, look & feel - second-rate first impression

Nothing does our heads in more than a disorganized web layout. And wouldn’t you just know it, the Skybook website layout does just that. Everything is confusing and the colour scheme and aesthetics make it a bit of an eyesore as you search for different sections of the site in vain. We already have a poor first impression of this site but it really shouldn’t be that difficult to have a decent layout. The fact that we found it so difficult to navigate just adds to why we think players should avoid this site entirely.

The site simply does not hit certain standards that we expect of a quality online gambling platform. As such, we highly recommend that you find a suitable replacement on our site, one that is reliable and far easier to use than Skybook.

Payments - staggeringly bad withdrawal process

No gamer wants to risk signing up with an operator that starts moving goal-posts when it’s time to pay out winnings. That’s why our Skybook review team spent more than an hour checking out the banking system. If you’re expecting to see familiar banking options like Skrill or Neteller, think again; there was never any chance you’d find them on Skybook. Instead, you’ll find some e-wallet, check, and online banking platforms like P2P, ZPay, Bank Wires, and MoneyPay.

The minimum deposit on most of the mentioned payment methods is a massively high $50 but it can go as high as a frankly insane $1,000 if you use checks or bank transfer. Maximum deposit limits range from $700 to $5,000. At the time of writing, the minimum withdrawal limits were stipulated at between $100 and $1,000, while the maximum goes up to $2,000 if you use checks. Note that withdrawals on some platforms attract a charge as you’d expect from a rogue operator like Skybook.

Negative Skybook user reviews suggest that the withdrawal process is arguably the worst part about the whole Skybook site. Getting your hard earned winnings out of your account is often greeted by an error message or some minor bit of fine print that suggests you didn’t complete the bonus properly. This section is largely why this online operator has made its way onto our blacklist.

Customer service - evasive, unhelpful and tardy

Skybook sucks at customer support which is bad news as it’s not uncommon for players to find themselves stuck in a rut on a gaming site, even at the best online gaming platforms.

You’d hope that the contact information is indicative of a site that is legit and reliable. However, this isn’t the case at Skybook and comes as a major disappointment.  We tested the options available on the site and could not have been less enthused by the help we received. The Skybook support staff members did everything but answer our questions in full. We were sent to another support staff member and then continued to be messed around.

At the end of the day, we couldn’t get a straight answer about very simple things like making deposits and withdrawals. You should look for alternatives to Skybook, as this site clearly has something to hide from its players.

License & security - up in smoke!

So let’s take a closer look at why you cannot trust Skybook. The mark of a prudent gamer is to investigate a casino’s legal position before signing up. Failure to do so, and you risk getting in bed with a rogue bookie. To make this part of your research easier, we ascertained that Skybook AG has a Curacao gaming license. However, Skybook has not obtained a US-based license in order to provide services that are above-board and in-line with state regulations. This means that they have gone out of their way to pull out of being among the legal gambling sites because they don’t want to be regulated. Instead, Skybook is operating offshore, illegally for a reason – and it is not to be regulated by official US gambling authorities, that much we can promise you.

Further analysis of Skybook’s security features revealed that the operator doesn’t do nearly enough to protect its players. We could find little in the way of encryption security or two-step authentication features on the site. This shows a lack of concern for player well-being which, in our eyes, is a clear indication of a site that you should avoid entirely.

Rewards & loyalty program - VIP program available but at what cost?

Skybook has done itself no favours by having little in the way of a decent reward program. After all, it really would be a shame if players felt that an operator doesn’t recognize or value their patronage. In fact, the absence of a rewards and loyalty program is a deal-breaker for the average gamer who thrives on recognition of how much they are spending. Just like we saw in our Sportingbet review, no reward program is available for VIP members at Skybook.

Plus why you would want to spend money on an illegal, offshore gambling site like Skybook for a few meagre rewards?  The platform is not to be trusted and certainly not for a few lousy rewards program points.

SkyBook Sports Betting

Betting markets - nothing to write home about

We kick off this section of our Skybook review by dissecting the barren range of sports available to you once you sign up. As you know, bettors are always digging around for sportsbooks where they can get the most betting mileage and Skybook let us down here. There is a poor selection of sports available on the site and there’s no way you should sign up here. In fact, when you look more closely, the range of betting markets is actually among the worst on the market. So, you may be able to bet on soccer or basketball but with very few options at your disposal. So best head elsewhere to bet on sport.

Odds - less than the industry average

In the eyes of avid bettors, your chances of winning big are as good as the available odds. We can even go as far as saying bettors place more importance on odds than bonuses. Our Skybook review found exceptionally bleak odds. In fact they were actually significantly less appealing than their nearest competitor. We could hardly find any value bets available when we checked out the available odds on the site. Simply put, avoid Skybook.

Live betting & streaming – substandard effort

We love to see a bookie that doesn’t limit bettors to only placing bets before the sporting event starts. There does appear to be some kind of live betting feature at Skybook although when we tested it out it felt a bit clunky and not particularly efficient. Not what you want to see from a live betting platform.

Limits - better limits elsewhere

Skybook has limits that aren’t anywhere as good as you get at legit online sportsbooks. This is important as it’s easy for bettors to spend hours on a bookie’s site. But this can only be possible if the sportsbook has flexible betting limits that won’t prematurely empty your pockets. The maximum bet limit varies with the sport and type of wager you’re looking to place. Our review further revealed how the operator is generally relaxed in terms of applying limits to certain bettors. That makes sense given its poor reputation for payouts in the first place.

Product summary & conclusion - not where you want to bet

Skybook has put on a poor sports betting platform. This shady online operator has literally no redeeming features. We highly recommend that you check out some of our other reviews to find a more suitable alternative for legal sports betting.

SkyBook Casino

Software - mediocre providers

If you’ve been playing online casino games for a while, you’ll know that the lobby is impacted by the software developers behind it. Skybook doesn’t have iconic studios like NetEnt on their roster. Instead this inept casino site is powered by Softswiss, and most if not all titles are from BGaming. Now, if you know anything about BGaming, then you’re aware of how unpopular it is. It makes sense that they would partner up with Skybook, peas in a pod and all that. The software for the Skybook casino section is wholly unenjoyable and this clearly shines through when you try and play the available games in the section as well. The reason you won’t find any quality software developers is because they won’t be seen giving games to an illegal offshore gambling site which is exactly what Skybook is.

Game portfolio - nothing to see here

If you are a complete newbie to casino games, then you may think the range of games on offer at Skybook is OK. Bu upon closer inspection, none of these games include the most popular titles in the industry right now and this serves to show that Skybook is a second-rate casino site.

Furthermore, most of the table games take ages to load and the slots on offer are nowhere near as fun as the ones you typically find on a more reliable operator’s site. The casino has not done enough for us to trust or even consider signing up to Skybook and it shouldn’t for you either.

Live casino - slow loading times

The live casino at Skybook simply follows the trend of everything else on the site: it’s a massive waste of time. The games that we tried out took forever to load up and when they eventually did, we had a less than enjoyable time using them. A live casino can be a shining light on these sites but for Skybook, its just another dampener on an already bleak gaming experience. The selection isn’t nearly as varied as you’d see in the Boyle Sports review, but that is a reputable bookmaker and Skybook is surely not. So, don’t waste your time even signing up to this offshore casino site.

Limits - no reason to sign up to Skybook

With such a deceptive welcome bonus and high minimum deposit amount, players are left to wonder if the table limits aren’t for the frugal gamer. Naturally, table limits vary with each game. But on average, you’re looking at a minimum stake of $0.10 and it’s just another reminder of why you should play at pretty much any legit casino site rather than Skybook.

Product summary & conclusion - don't bother, move on

Skybook simply is not a good online casino site and as we’ve already said, doesn’t even have a license to operate in the US. We implore you to avoid it. There are plenty of other great sites to use, so don’t make the mistake so many others have of signing up to this illegal operator.

Skybook Review FAQ

🕵️ Is Skybook legit?

We’ve been around the block long enough to know that an operator’s legitimacy status is always of interest to prospective customers. Just like we’ve encountered questions like: is Sporting Index legit, it’s fitting to look into this bookie’s legal position. We can assure you that at no point do we entertain rogue gaming sites with no valid gambling license. But it always pays to see for yourself the exact gambling body backing the operator, as revealed when we found that Skybook is an illegal offshore gambling site.

📱 Is Skybook mobile friendly?

More gamers have become accustomed to using their devices for almost anything. Playing their favorite casino games shouldn’t be exempted from the equation. Such a service allows players to log onto the site while on the move from almost anywhere, provided they have a safe and secure internet connection. Our guides provide a complete picture on how you can evaluate bookies’ mobile platforms and find one better than the illegal offshore site that Skybook offers.

💰 What is the Skybook sports welcome bonus?

Bettors looking for a new betting site are always quick to review the bonuses on offer. Such promotions usually give them an indication of whether they can afford to bet on the site, how much is in it for them, and what wagering conditions are involved. Skybook deviates from the conventional norm of offering one sports signup offer. Instead, the bookie avails several promos that are all equally dreadful.

Overall conclusion - Skybook fails to impress

Skybook is one of the classic examples of a site that will try to lure you in with a big bonus only to let you down in every other aspect that they offer.

We have blacklisted this site for good reasons. Although the fact that Skybook is operating illegally in the US should really be enough to put you off anyway!

Between the customer service, withdrawal processes and frankly, everything else on the site, we highly recommend that you don’t sign up here. There is simply too much that we don’t trust about Skybook, which is why we suggest checking out the rest of our site for a more reliable operator, like our Novibet rating.
